Fox News pushed election conspiracies 800 times in the 2 weeks after the vote -- and helped cause a coup attempt. Tell advertisers to stop propping up propaganda, and cut ties for good: [ Sign the petitionÂ]( {NAME}, Fox News just helped cause a coup attempt — we can’t let it go unpunished. In the two weeks after the presidential election, Fox cast doubt or pushed conspiracy theories about the election nearly 800 times. It told viewers the election was invalid, and helped stoke the violence. But while big business had dropped donations to Republican members of Congress who voted to invalidate the election, they continue to advertise on Fox, happy to partner with and profit from deadly disinformation and rebellion. This cannot be allowed to continue. Click to call on companies like Procter & Gamble, GM, and Nestle to drop Fox, now: [Advertisers: cut ties with Fox News]( We’ve known for years that Fox News is like poison, shilling conspiracy theories and lies on subjects from Covid to climate. Now they’ve pushed their right-wing viewership toward open insurrection and the rejection of a democratic election. Any company that keeps advertising with them is profiting from and complicit with their misinformation, white supremacy, and extremist fear-mongering. In the last 3 years, many companies have cut advertising ties with prime-time hosts like Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and Tucker Carlson. It’s now clear they must cut all ties with Fox News — not just one host at at time. We need to punish those who nearly brought a coup to the United States, not reward them with ad dollars. [P&G, GM, Nestle: end ads on Fox News, stop propping up propaganda]( This isn’t exaggeration. In the days after the election, Fox News personalities told the audience “this is a war, this is a battle for the control of our government”, that “there’s no doubt this [election] was stolen”, and that “we used to storm the castle over abuses of power like this”. Fox News’ advertisers are flying under the radar for now, but fortunately our community is at its best holding corporations to account for their actions. Let’s stop the flow of ad money to Fox News, and stop propping up this propaganda. [ Sign the petitionÂ]( Thanks for all that you do, Danny and the team at SumOfUs [Never forget Fox News’s promotion of the ‘Big Lie’]( Washington Post, January 19, 2021 [In 2 weeks after it called the election, Fox News cast doubt on the results nearly 800 times]( Media Matters, January 14, 2021     --------------------------------------------------------------- SumOfUs is a community of people from around the world committed to curbing the growing power of corporations.
