As we kick off the new year - and all of the insane politics and media fear-mongering, this is a reminder to those voices that we are opting out of the status quo. We wish good luck to the cities of Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles, which continue to follow policies that destroy once-great places. We refuse to participate (or be forced to care) about their choices. We are building a community dedicated to playing our hands against a rigged system and generating wealth so we can focus on ourselves. The Florida Republic is an independent and profitable State of Mind. We plan to enjoy our lives in 2024, attend to things that matter, like family and friends, and make money to survive the [reckless policies of the last 30 years](. If we spend all our time worrying about American politics, bankrupted cities, social ineptitude, prattling moral betters, and things outside our control, we’ll miss what matters most in life. I refuse to do that in 2024 - even as our political system hits another rock bottom. We will focus on the things we can control and change. Every day in the Florida Republic (is that Mark Ford in the back left?) Ourselves, our health, and our wealth. Everything else is noise in the Florida Republic. Here Are Some Ideas to Bring This Mindset with You… where you go. - Never be the person without a chair when the music stops - You'll never know when you need a sportcoat; you can always take the jacket off. Sportscoats are necessary, but sandals are optional. - Don’t buy new automobiles… in fact, get a golf cart. - Consider carrying five items for conversational purposes at all times:  - A pen, pad, a pocket watch, coins (even foreign coins)...Always have a piece of foreign currency on you, even if you’ve never been to that country. At least tell people you saw the soccer stadium in whatever nation.  - Every man says they will open a bar or write a book at some point in life; be different.  Open a wine shop, become a freelance barber, or find a common dream for people in foreign countries and aspire to achieve that. - If you have something important to say, buy a stamp and write a letter. - Take a day off work to celebrate a sporting event in another country - Own good coasters - Have your own personal business cards - Buy a wedding gift that will get people talking. Nothing they actually register for. These are just some ideas. But maybe you’ll come up with your own. We aim to have fun, manage risk, make money, and create the best versions of ourselves in 2024. Welcome to 2024.
