I just listened to two people talk about battery projects for 30 minutes, and I don't know what happened. Also, the stock market is drunk.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Forwarded this email? [Garrett {NAME}]( Nov 10   [READ IN APP](   Market Update Told you. It’s Friday. Squeeze. Third deviation band. Rebound. Come on. We have Third Friday next week. Don’t go crazy. Volume is at 83%. Algos and such. Bet you didn’t know that eight of 11 sectors are negative, and consumer cyclical and tech are a bag of sandwiches. --------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Fellow Expat: Last Friday, I went to Ocean Pride. It’s not fancy. It’s a “dive” seafood bar/restaurant on York Road in Maryland. My dad and I go back and forth about the quality of the food. He wants to drive 45 minutes to have blue crabs at a 9.5/10 rating, and I’m happy to drive 5 minutes for an 8.5/10. I wonder where my perfectionism comes from… Ocean Pride hasn’t changed in 40 years. I’ve been hiding in that dive for 20 years. Last Friday, I ordered six XL crabs. I ate them like I was heading to the electric chair. At one point, a man three seats to my left “complained” that I had not offered him any seafood. We started talking… Fast forward 10 minutes, and I realized that in 1994… I was in his living room… That night… I watched the Los Angeles Police Department follow OJ Simpson’s Ford Bronco - interrupting the NBA Championship… I grew up and played lacrosse with his brother. Fast forward a week… This morning, we discussed a new business project together… bringing my friend’s battery company - stateside. My ROI on those crabs may be epic. Some people will say it’s all because Baltimore is a small town. I say… find your dive bar. Chat with people. Find common ground. It only takes one conversation. You may just hit the lottery. That’s it. Go have a great weekend. Stay positive, Garrett {NAME} You're currently a free subscriber to [Postcards from the Florida Republic](.
