On Tuesday, the watchdog group America First Legal disclosed a trove of email correspondences between the then-Vice President Joe Biden's office and various businesses associated with his family members. According to the documents submitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) uncovered the following email exchanges: 19,335 emails exchanged with Rosemont Seneca. 4,243 emails exchanged with Hunter Biden. 1,751 emails exchanged with Jim Biden. 3,738 emails exchanged with Jim's Lion Hall Group. This information regarding the emails became public following a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed by AF Legal, which was granted in court. The GOP's Oversight Committee chimed in on the matter via Twitter, highlighting Joe Biden's previous assurance to the public of maintaining an "absolute wall" between his role as an elected official and his family's business ventures. The Committee pointed out, "That doesn't match his track record. New information from the National Archives shows that Biden's VP Office exchanged emails with his son Hunter, his brother Jim, and both of their 'businesses' OVER 29,000 TIMES." This revelation has reignited the focus on allegations surrounding the Biden family's international business dealings. Last month, a series of documents and emails released by the House GOP seemed to suggest further instances of influence peddling by the Biden administration, including interference in federal investigations. Chairman James Comer (R-KY) had brought attention to details of bank transfers sent to Hunter Biden from Chinese nationals. The Biden family's connections with foreign entities, particularly in light of lobbying firm Blue Star Strategies revealing that Burisma, the Ukrainian natural gas company, appeared to have access to Vice President Biden's planned talking points for his 2015 trip to Ukraine. Yuriy Lutsenko, a former Prosecutor General of Ukraine, alleged that Joe Biden used his influence to shield his son's Ukrainian employer in exchange for payments. "There is a claim they have proof of a wire of significant funds from Zlochevsky to Rosemont Seneca Partners LLC, which they claim directly went to the benefit of Joe Biden," wrote Cummins. Over the past two days, President Joe Biden has quietly participated in interviews with Special Counsel Robert Hur. White House Counsel's Office spokesman Ian Sams cited this as additional evidence that Biden has been cooperating with the investigation since its inception. "The president has been interviewed as part of the investigation being led by Special Counsel Robert Hur," the spokesman stated. "The voluntary interview was conducted at the White House over two days, Sunday and Monday, and concluded Monday. As we have said from the beginning, the president and the White House are cooperating with this investigation, and as it has been appropriate, we have provided relevant updates publicly, being as transparent as we can consistent with protecting and preserving the integrity of the investigation. We would refer other questions to the Justice Department at this time," he added. The federal investigation into President Joe Biden's handling of classified documents has progressed slowly, in contrast to the probes into former Vice President Mike Pence and former President Donald Trump. In January, Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Hur as a special counsel after classified documents from the Obama administration were discovered at the President's former office in Washington, D.C., as well as his residence in Wilmington, Delaware.
