[Garrett {NAME}]( May 24   [READ IN APP](   Market Update: This market has a very weak buying pattern, and we’re seeing choppy signals in this environment. We’re in yellow conditions right now, with markets sputtering from overbought conditions before the recent release of Fed minutes. Dear Fellow Expat: During a two-week trip to a diner with my mother and daughter, my daughter, Amelia, ate a hot dog. Still hungry, she said to the waitress… “I need another dog…” Like a child-like version of Gary Busey in the film Point Break. So, last night at my wife’s birthday dinner, my sister got Amelia a present. A book… “Amelia, look at this…” she said. “Super Dog…” It took me a second… but I laughed and said… “It says… Sup Dog.” My sister paused and turned her head at me. And in the sincerest, most curious voice, she asked… "What’s Sup Dog?” “Whats… Up… Dog?” I asked. She broke out laughing. She says she needs to get out more. [Upgrade to paid]( Perhaps a Grill Would Be a Good Start? My sister lives in Pasadena, Maryland, on the Chesapeake Bay. Memorial Day in Maryland is a gateway to the summer. People vanish on Fridays, and it’s rather notorious as they pour down to Ocean City, Maryland, and up to Dewey, Delaware. What they do there will probably appear on an MTV show. But Memorial Day is also a popular weekend for grilling. We’ll be sure to fire up ours on Monday. So, how can you combine the awesome force of the stock market… with (in a [Norm MacDonald voice]( the incredible act of … “Grilling!” We can follow the insiders. He Bought What? Why do we follow the insiders? Well, as Peter Lynch once explained, because they expect the stock price to go up. We watch the CEOs because they know the business best… and the CFOs because they know the balance sheet best. So… what stood out? Traeger (COOK). Of all things, the company sells wood pellet barbecue grills. But it’s unprofitable and not typically within our interest scope. Then why mention it? Well, this is rather interesting… and something we talked about earlier today. While listening to comedian and libertarian political pundit Dave Smith on the Joe Rogan Experience, we noticed Joe Rogan reading a commercial for Traeger. The grill company. Well, that’s interesting. Rogan has read numerous ads for products like Athletic Greens, but the ad sounded more personal this time. Clearly, Joe genuinely loved his Traeger grill and was promoting it from the heart. We didn’t think much of it, assuming only that Traeger grills must be quite impressive—until we saw the insider buy this morning. Joe Rogan averages around 11 million viewers and listeners per episode. Guests often discuss the significant boost they receive in their social media presence or support for various causes after appearing on his podcast. It will be interesting to see if this is the reason for the recent insider purchase.  Will Traeger see the 'Rogan bump'? Or is this just a seasonal purchase… We’ll find out… Until then, I’ll stick to my Genesis II by Weber (WEBR).
