Ever gotten stuck circling the airport, hunting for that elusive parking spot, only to end up in an overflow lot miles from the terminal? This summer, forget the flight delays—missing your vacation might start in the parking lot! Seattle's airport had 60% of its spots sold by Thursday for Memorial Day weekend. Plan ahead, and make sure your summer escape doesn’t hit a snag before takeoff. Buckle up and let’s dive into why reserving airport parking might just save your sanity this season! Stocks All Day Every Day Trading stocks could soon be non-stop. A new platform called 24X National Exchange wants to trade stocks 24 hours a day. They are waiting for SEC approval. Big players like the New York Stock Exchange are interested too. Now, some brokers already offer longer trading hours. Robinhood and Interactive Brokers allow trading late at night. Robinhood's 24-hour market has been popular, with $10 billion in trades. Experts believe 24-hour trading could become normal. Young investors want to trade anytime, just like they use apps. However, there are concerns about low volume at night. This might make trades less smooth. But as demand grows, so will 24-hour trading. Betting Big on Decks Trex ($TREX) is betting $450 million on home improvement. They're building a factory in Little Rock, Arkansas. This factory will help them make more weatherproof decking boards. Trex uses sawdust and old plastic bags to make these boards. Trex is also introducing new premium decks. Some look like hardwoods, others stay cool in the sun. People spent a lot on home improvements during the pandemic. Trex couldn't keep up with demand. Now, even with high interest rates, Trex thinks people will add to their homes instead of moving. Trex's CEO, Bryan Fairbanks, says the biggest risk is doing nothing. The new factory should be ready by 2026. Turbine Trouble Wind turbines are breaking and causing big problems. In Norway, a 20-ton turbine blade fell. It crashed into trees, but nobody was hurt. The turbine had other problems this year too. Failures like this are happening worldwide. The wind industry is growing fast, but quality issues are rising. Warranty costs have doubled since 2018, making things worse for turbine makers. Companies are trying to slow down and fix these problems. But supply chain issues and competition from China add pressure to rush new models. Even with these challenges, the industry added a record amount of wind power last year. Big wind turbines are here to stay, but they need to be more reliable. Lab-Grown Meat Bans Backfire US states are banning lab-grown meat, causing controversy. Florida and Alabama have outlawed lab-grown meat, claiming it's unsafe. Some say this ban is political, not based on facts. George Peppou, CEO of Vow, calls this an "own goal." He says it helps Asia get ahead, like with semiconductors. Vow sells lab-grown quail meat in Singapore. Other companies, Eat Just and Upside Foods, sell lab-grown chicken in the US. Advocates say lab-grown meat can help meet protein demand and cut environmental harm. Critics argue the bans ignore free market principles. They warn the US might lose its lead in this new technology. Quick Sizzles - Robinhood Soars: Robinhood shares jumped 23% this week. Bank of America upgraded it to buy from underperform, noting rising retail engagement and organic growth. - Green Power Projects: US green energy projects could generate $47 billion in tax credits this year. Oil groups, banks, and private equity are joining with renewables developers to offset liabilities. - UK Inflation Drop: UK inflation is expected to fall close to the Bank of England’s 2% target due to lower energy costs. April’s data will be published this week. - Fed Minutes Insight: Investors await the Federal Reserve's May meeting minutes for clues on future interest rates. Despite cooling inflation, cuts are unlikely before the second half of the year. That’s your Market Sizzle; good trading, good life! You're currently a free subscriber to [Josh Belanger](.
