Introducing the Alpaca Project in collaboration with Epaulet. THE ALPACA PROJECT The Alpaca Project

Introducing the Alpaca Project in collaboration with Epaulet. [View this email in your browser]( THE ALPACA PROJECT The Alpaca Project is our newest adventure, a collaboration with Epaulet. As a community, Styleforum stands for the values of friendship and inclusivity: we encourage and support one another through good times and bad times. This is why we decided to support the ALS Association through this project, in honour of one of Styleforum's long-time members who fell ill with ALS. We will be donating 5% of the proceeds of this collection to the ALS Association, which funds scientific research to find a cure to ALS and provides support for people affected by this illness. We entrusted Eva, the owner and founder of Epaulet, with the task of finding a product that any member of the community would be proud to wear: a product that is at the same time high quality and stylish, environmentally friendly and ethically sourced. She scoured the world and she found such product in the Andes Mountains. This collection of scarves, stoles, throw blankets, and sweaters is produced in Peru using alpaca wool. We love alpaca because it's a superior fiber with great moisture-absorbing properties ("hygroscopic" is your Word of the Day), which results in less damp garments when the weather is muggy. But we love alpaca even more when it comes from a vertically integrated enterprise that oversees every step of the production, from the sourcing of raw materials to the shipping of the final product. For the Alpaca Project we are working with an established factory in Peru that guarantees a 100% fair trade product manufactured locally by workers that are paid fair wages. The alpacas and their habitat are respected and their farming complies with the practices dictated by the RAS (Responsible Alpaca Standards). Alpaca wool is also an environmentally friendly fabric: alpacas do not damage the pasture when grazing, nor do they use land employed for food or water production. ...plus, let's be real, they're the cutest freaking animals on the planet. We hope you'll find this project interesting and you'll enjoy your new soft and stylish alpaca goods for years to come.
