[Homed] Hi {NAME}, It seems appropriate this week that we are highlighting stories about people following their dreams - people making lifestyle choices that are important to them. With most of us having a summer break at this time of year (be it short or long), it’s invariably a time to take stock of what’s going on in our lives. Many people make big decisions in January - they may return to work and promptly hand in their notice. Or they may decide to look seriously for another job first. Others choose to shake off a relationship that is simply not working or healthy. Of course, there are many different reasons to initiate change. For [Sharon Hastie, 65, and her wife Kathy Hall, 67]( it was a cancer diagnosis that put a long-held plan to downsize and retire into overdrive. Two years ago, they moved out of their house and into a house bus with their adorable dog Sofia. Fortunately, Hall was finally given the all clear after radiation therapy in November 2022. And the Ladies in Red, as they call themselves, have had fun blogging their freedom camping adventures on social media. But it’s what they say that should make us all think twice about where we are at in life: “We should have done it years ago. We could have done it years ago.” They don’t bother with clocks, because time is no longer an issue. And the sense of timelessness and the unhurried pace of life these days is what Hastie says they value most: “It's fantastic. I tell you, the most freeing feeling.” Envious of the lifestyle? You’re not alone. But it’s never too late to make a change, be it a big dream or something small, yet significant. It’s worth thinking about this summer.
