[padding] [If you are unable to view this message correctly, click here]( [padding] [stuff header] [spacer] [padding] Hi {NAME}, Keen gardeners out there will love to see [the garden transformation]( brought about by Nelson folk Elizabeth and Pete Mazey. They took a bare clay hillside, and, with a lot of labour - and an injection of cash from an inheritance - turned it into the Roman garden of Elizabeth’s dreams, complete with pillars, statues, water urns, mosaic tables with black wrought iron chairs, and paved edges. This Sunday, they’re opening it up to the public, in a [fundraising self-drive house and garden tour]( to support their local Nelson Tasman Hospice. Which just goes to show that gardeners are lovely people. I’m looking out from my work-from-home office onto waist-high grass in part of my backyard. Still there’s one section prettily group-planted in lomandra and the brightest pink phlox. Maybe eventually the tended part will expand its territory. Good things take time. Happy weekend, to the gardeners and those chasing other pursuits. [padding] [user profile pic] [padding] Joanna Davis [padding] Homed Senior Reporter [padding] [spacer] [padding] Enjoying this email?
