[padding] [If you are unable to view this message correctly, click here]( [padding] [stuff header] [spacer] [padding] Hi {NAME}, Hearing about [Alice and Caleb Pearson working on their 11th home renovation]( with three young children in tow - and another on the way - makes me feel equal parts exhausted and inspired. My colleague Kylie Klein-Nixon interviewed the couple - who you may remember from [winning The Block NZ way back in 2013]( - for the final episode of our First Rung: Reno 101 podcast. They are [always generous]( sharing their[ideas and journey]( with their stated desire to help and encourage other renovators. One of their recent projects, [a $150 feature wall]( looks like a good job to tackle for someone like me without heaps of skills. In the podcast’s final episode, Kylie and I talked people who just can’t stop at one renovation and go on to make it a habit and even a career: The Pearsons; [also Katey Pittwood who was struggling when we recorded the show, but who has just managed to secure her sixth project after a long time looking]( and property trader Tom Faye, who has six renos on the go at the moment and who has worked out a way to streamline the process (spoiler: he buys houses next door to each other). The whole podcast project has given me plenty of ideas for work to do on my own home. But I’m going to take another interviewee’s advice to start small. In my case, that’s a feature wall and some chook fencing. Still, I’m glad there are people out there whose visions are more expansive. Happy weekend.
