[padding] [If you are unable to view this message correctly, click here]( [padding] [stuff header] [spacer] [padding] Hi {NAME}, My best friend’s house is due to be demolished. The witchy-looking, Westmere rental that our gang of friends has called a second home for the past few years is being bowled to make way for new pipelines. That house has been our Monday-night hangout spot, the host of many summer pool parties, winter potluck dinners, and where I lived during the first Covid-19 lockdown. We didn’t own it, but we filled it with good memories. But sitting down to Love Island-and-red-wine Sunday in my friend’s new flat, I felt immediately at home. There was the squishy blue couch, the indoor jungle of plants, and the two cats, trying to escape their new-house-adjustment-quarantine with sheer persistence. Our interiors and rituals make a house a home, not the four walls. As a renter, that thought is a comfort. Interiors also change as we change — just ask [More FM radio host Jay-Jay Feeney](. If you are going to build your own four walls in the near future, be sure to check out our coverage of the 2021 Master Builder Awards for a world of inspiration. Happy weekend.
