It’s been a liberating change, enabling us to make decisions based on our values and our bold ambitions for the future. Stuff is on a mission to make Aotearoa a better place through trustworthy and interesting journalism that enhances our communities and represents their diversity. To be an organisation that has a real, positive impact on society, thinking not just of profit, but of purpose, people and the planet. As a media company, it’s easy for us to say and print those words. As New Zealand’s largest independent media organisation, the only thing that really matters is, are we living up to them? [padding] [padding] [padding] [padding] [Impact Report]( [spacer] This then, is our first annual [Impact Report]( published for a couple of different reasons. Firstly, because we think it’s a really good read, highlighting some of the best journalism we’ve ever done. Work that took hard graft, tears and grit, because the truth takes more. Secondly, it’s us openly sharing with you - our subscribers, advertisers and readers - how we are keeping true to our word. [padding] [spacer] [padding] Even in the last week since the report went to print, we used our reach to get New Zealanders in behind our Buy the Hill campaign. In just half a day of campaigning, we were able to rally our audience to donate enough to ensure [Te Ahu Pātiki]( could be bought and saved for the public to enjoy for generations to come. [padding] [spacer] [padding] [Voyager Awards]( [spacer] Many of the stories featured in the Impact Report were recently acknowledged at the 2021 Voyager Media Awards and I’m so proud that some of the most important categories, including Editorial Executive of the Year, Reporter of the Year, Best Documentary and a host of others, were won by our people. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
