I'm not suggesting I spent my first day back in the office daydreaming nostalgically about my bed, but I did start the new year thinking about [bedding]( pillows, [cushions]( and pouffs. Boy, that 6.30am start was a bit of a shock to the post holiday system. One week later, I'm back into the work-a-day swing, with my mind on the bumper year ahead. I've got big decor and reno plans this year, starting with a revamp of my back yard (any excuse to spend time outdoors) and a total overhaul of my sunroom, which is currently a forlorn place where old pot plants and pairs of shoes go to die. I'm looking forward to sharing the results with you a little later, and we'd love to hear from you if you're getting stuck into a reno or sprucing-up this year. Drop us a line at homed@stuff.co.nz. Looking at trends for the next 12 months... With the demand for bespoke tiny homes at an all time high, it looks like our love for diminutive domiciles will continue well into 2020. It seems likely the focus on the climate crisis will increase our interest in sustainable, impact-free living, too. I'm all for it. What home and interior trends are you hoping to see more of in 2020? Kylie Klein Nixon Senior Homed reporter Enjoying this email?
