[Support our Journalism]( [Support our Journalism »](   HOMED 13 April 2024   Kia ora {NAME}, This week, our reporter Colleen Hawkes had the uncommon opportunity to follow a home full circle, through the selling, buying and renovating process, and back to selling again. In July 2019, [we ran a story about a Petone house]( that had been in the same family for 99 years. The Guthrie-Kane family grew up there - eight siblings whose mother was born in the house bought by her parents after WWI. At that time, the family was understandably nostalgic about selling. As it turned out, they couldn’t have handed it on to a better person: First home buyer Harvey Mason, a young builder, bought it and embarked on a major renovation. Not that there are huge changes to the 1904 cottage from the outside - other than a huge modern addition out the back. But before and after pics of the interior show a stunning renovation. Now that Mason is heading home to the Wairarapa, the house is [on the market again.]( This time, there won't be much for a new buyer to do but move in and enjoy.
