[] [careers.state.gov]( INL Counternarcotics Advisor Now Accepting Applications The U.S. Department of State is currently accepting applications for an [INL Counternarcotics Advisor](, located in Washington, D.C. INL is under the Under Secretary for Democracy and Human Rights (J) and works to keep Americans safe at home by countering international crime, illegal drugs, and instability abroad. INL helps countries deliver justice and fairness by strengthening their police, courts, and corrections systems. These efforts reduce the amount of crime and illegal drugs reaching U.S. shores. The Pakistan Counternarcotics Advisor will support and advise INL/AP and INL-Pakistan in its efforts to ensure continued program oversight and monitoring through compliance and appropriate oversight of INL counternarcotics, border security, maritime security, and cross-border Afghanistan-Pakistan foreign assistance programs in Pakistan. The position will also track and analyze foreign policy developments in Pakistan related to counternarcotics, border security, maritime security, and cross-border Afghanistan-Pakistan issues. The position will advise post on counternarcotics, border security, maritime security, and cross-border Afghanistan-Pakistan issues as well as track, coordinate, and analyze a wide range of data sets, metrics, and reporting elements related to the oversight of Pakistan border security programs in excess of $20 million annually. The incumbent will provide strategic guidance to INL and embassy Islamabad on counternarcotics, border security, maritime security, and cross-border Afghanistan-Pakistan issues, as well as Pakistan monitoring and oversight related to the border security programs.
