There's a TON you can learn from just these 3 killer campaigns... 🔥 Stanley's Viral Car Fire Stanley makes heavy-duty water bottles. Up until recently, younger generations didn't really know about the brand. But that's all changing fast now, thanks to campaigns like the one they pulled off last week... Some random TikTok user [posted a video showing the aftermath of her car catching on fire...]( The car was totally destroyed, but her Stanley tumbler was not only in pretty good shape – it actually still had ice in it! Users immediately started going nuts, tagging Stanley on TikTok saying they should sponsor the video... [Stanley quickly jumped on the opportunity, and bought her a new car]( (along with a bunch of Stanley tumblers)... There's SO many reasons to LOVE this campaign... - Huge amount of social reach (~130mm views on TT alone) - Penetration & goodwill with their #1 target demographic And there's some lessons even us smaller marketers can take away... - Do things that don't scale. These are the things that stand out and the things customers remember. Increasingly true as AI automates everything. - If people are talking about your brand online, make sure you have a social listening tool/system in place. 🚁 North Face's Viral Airdrop Along the same lines, North Face (outdoor clothing) saw this video posted on TikTok – [essentially a bad review for their product]( from somebody hiking in the rain... So what did North Face do? [They gave her exactly what she asked for...]( They grabbed a new jacket, hopped in a helicopter, and hand-delivered it during her hike! While this campaign only racked up ~15mm views (so far), it's another KILLER campaign... Both of these campaigns together highlight some big takeaways for you and me... - Unhappy customers can often be converted into your most loyal fans (and in this case, also massive marketing opportunities). - TikTok is still the cutting edge of social marketing. It's where everything is 'happening', which is then distributed elsewhere. I personally hate marketing on TT, but clearly need to revisit it. 🎵 Spotify Wrapped = Annual Virality You've probably seen Spotify's 'Wrapped' campaign being shared all over social media this week... Spotify Wrapped has become so reliably viral, that we don't even realize it's one of the most successful marketing campaigns of all time... - The #SpotifyWrapped hashtag has 71-BILLION views on TikTok. #SpotifyWrapped2023 has 184mn so far. - Out of the 120mm people who looked at their 2021 Spotify Wrapped, 60mm shared on social. That's a 50% view-to-share rate. That's WILD. What would it cost for Spotify to buy 71-BILLION eyeballs on TikTok? I hope somebody got a BIG raise for this campaign. The takeaway for you on this one is this... - Can you copy this campaign and integrate it into your business? This is any easy win for most SaaS & iPhone app businesses that collect lots of user data. - Think about the data points you collect on customers, and consider if you could roll it into some personalized-data viral social campaign.
