Read time: 1 min, 10 sec Q: “Hey Pat – I'm ready to get started BUT I'm still looking for the right idea. What should I do?" Ahh shit… 🙄 here we go again... I hate this question. But I also get 10 emails about it every day. So I'm going to answer it once and for all. Here's my answer: There are hundreds, if not thousands of ways to make money and get rich. Don't believe me? Well at Starter Story we have the data to prove it: ^^ Yes, that is 621 business ideas from our case studies that, on average, make over a $1M a year. That statistic just blows my mind... Yet I still have people emailing every day telling me that they can't find a good business idea? Why??? 😡 Well, to answer this I want you to close your eyes and imagine you're going on a hike. You get in your car and drive to the location on Google Maps. Then you get out and walk to the trailhead. All of a sudden you're standing in front of a dense forest. like this one: In front of you there are various paths. You can see that people have taken these paths before because of the wear and tear on the ground. But what you don’t know is: where these paths are exactly going. So you have two options: (a) Start going down a path, or (b) Wait for someone to tell you which path take. Many – MANY – people choose option B. That’s why so many people ask me "what is the best business idea?" They want the answer. They want the immediate gratification. They want a silver bullet. But what if, instead, you approached it this way: Make your best guess on what path to take. Then start walking. Yes, this decision is hard and scary. And yes, you have to make a lot of assumptions and bets. And no, it's not going to be easy. And potentially, you might even have to double back if it’s not right. But here’s one thing I know: The worst thing you can do is just stand there and not move forward. Yes, it’s important to make a calculated decision, but don’t spend too long contemplating. Because if you do, you might just turn around completely and head back to the parking lot, never have even given it a shot. If you are ready to take that first step, here’s your chance: This Thursday I'm doing something crazy. It's a Starter Story flash offer - all the data, research, and community you need to start your business. Stop waiting. Choose a path. And get going. Oh, by the way, I’m only opening it up for 59 minutes.
