I was terrified... worried that there would be riots, I bought a pistol and a shotgun – the first time I'd ever owned a gun in my life. [Stansberry Digest] Pistol and a Shotgun --------------------------------------------------------------- I was terrified... Worried that there would be riots, I bought a pistol and a shotgun – the first time I'd ever owned a gun in my life. That's how grim things felt during the early stages of the 2008 Financial Crisis. The Treasury had just implemented TARP... the Fed was beginning its first round of quantitative easing... and both stocks and the housing market were tanking. I was nervous the U.S. Dollar might be in trouble, too. So, I made a big decision with my money: [I loaded up on gold and gold stocks.]( Looking back, these may have been the smartest decisions I've ever made in my life. Fortunately, I never had to use the guns. [But those gold investments paid off beyond my wildest expectations.]( In fact, I'm writing this email to you next to my pool... on the custom waterfront home my wife and I built with the profits I made back then. That's because from the end of 2008 through September 2011, gold shot up 111%. And the gold stocks I owned soared far higher – 1,161%. I'm telling you this because [right now feels like an even better time to buy gold.]( The yield curve is more inverted than it's been since the '80s... Fitch has threatened cutting the U.S.'s AAA rating... The bond markets expect the Fed will have to pivot – which has always been a reliable signal for higher gold. We've just never seen anything like this... And if history repeats (as it often does), I wouldn't be surprised to see gold soaring to over $3,000/oz. Which is why I'm sending you this note today. Other folks might be nervous or panicking right now... But that won't be the case for you if you [make gold and gold stocks a core part of your personal portfolio.]( Since 2001, I've given my readers the chance to make 20% annualized gains. That's more than double the S&P 500 – using just gold stocks. I'd like to help you achieve the same, starting today. I recently took part in a video chat with Stansberry Research Editor-at-Large Dani Cambone. During our meeting, I explained even more details about why now looks like the best time in history to own gold. If you're interested, you can check out the full recording of that conversation [right here.]( Whether you decide to read my work or not – the choice is yours. But do yourself and your loved ones a favor: Increase your allocation to gold. You'll thank me a few months from now. Again, you can hear [why I believe gold is getting ready for a huge breakout (and what it means for your money), right here.]( Respectfully, John Doody Senior Analyst, Stansberry Research 50+ Year Gold Expert Published by Stansberry Research.
