A leading privacy-first browser is launching a self-serve ads program, Meta’s planning a big release for December 2023, and more. April 6, 2023 [Read in browser]( [logo] [sponsor]( Good morning. It’s Thursday, which means tonight will be the perfect time to “sleep” on your great marketing ideas. In one sleep the best ideas will stand out, and it will be Friday. If you need more creative hacks, well, you know where to find us. SEARCH Brave rolls out self-serve ads [article-image] Ah, so this is how it feels to advertise in incognito mode… Brave—arguably the most popular privacy-first browser out there—[launched a self-serve ads program](, giving marketers the power to set up and manage search campaigns. A Brave new world: For now you can purchase Brave Ads Push Notifications for English-language campaigns, with News Ads, Search Ads, and other languages coming soon. … But you do have to meet a few requirements, namely: - One-month minimum campaign duration. - $1000 minimum spend. - Pre-payment for the first month. Once you apply, Brave will assess your partner eligibility, looking at factors such as availability, inventory, and your industry. How it works: The browser targets users based on browsing history. Ads are matched with users' devices using a machine learning model that identifies behavioral and contextual signals. Users who engage with your ads earn rewards for their attention in the form of tokens. The Brave Ads concept is pretty novel, because it's a blockchain-based browser where all targeting happens during one session. No data stored. Wild stuff. Why we care: Brave currently has 57M monthly active users, and about 10% of them have opted in for ads. So given its unique, privacy-first advertising model and dedicated user base, this ad channel seems worth trying out. And who knows? In an increasingly regulated landscape, maybe other browsers will follow Brave’s lead… META Coming soon: generative AI, but for ads So, Meta is planning to release an [ad-creation generative AI tool]( by December of this year. … And like bagels and cream cheese, it just makes sense. Give me options: Information is still scarce, but Meta’s CTO Andrew Bosworth [provided an example of how the tech could work](. Instead of using a single image for your campaign, you can ask the AI to make images that work for different audiences or different awareness stages. The same goes for assets like copy and even entire videos. Whoa. Why we care: It’s too early to know how effective AI-generated ads will actually be, but as you know, generative AI is technically a part of Meta’s ad creation process already. And it seems to work. So it was only a matter of time before Meta rolled out a generative model for ad creatives. When it’s ready for you to pilot, we’ll let you know… SPONSORED BY CONTENT AT SCALE Write research-backed SEO content 10x faster [article-image]( Know how much a 2,500-word blog costs? Or how much time it takes to produce? You’re easily looking at hundreds of dollars–and dozens of hours. It can be insanely hard to hire for this task, too. Till now, creating long-form content for SEO 10x faster than a human was unheard of. Till… Content at Scale (CaS). This [long-form AI writer is saving agencies and marketers 10-25x on the typical times and costs of human-only content creation.]( In 24 hours of using CaS, an experienced writer can generate and edit up to ten long-form pieces of content — without sacrificing quality, accuracy, or structure. Unlike most AI writing software, CaS uses a mix of three AI engines, including two natural language processing and semantic analysis algorithms, and an on-page SEO checklist editor built into the writing app as well as a direct connection to Copyscape and WordPress. CaS isn’t just another GPT-3 API call – [it’s far more advanced.]( Eliminate SEO content creation frustration for good. [Get started producing original, long-form SEO content 10x faster.]( AI MARKETING How to use ChatGPT to create product photography prompts [article-image] One side of the story: It’s easy to create infinite product photos in less than five minutes with AI image generator tools like Midjourney, DALL-E, or Stable Diffusion. The other side of the story: A simple prompt is not enough, and coming up with prompt ideas can be time consuming. A lot of prompt engineering is required to be efficient and get the results you want. Enter ChatGPT. Linus Ekenstam [tweeted a nice little framework]( that allows you to create a huge number of product photos by making ChatGPT do all the legwork. It’s four simple steps, less than a few minutes... First prompt – “Generate an elaborate list of the key elements used in a food photograph, separated by comma, explained in short below the bullet list.” The output is pretty good. In this particular instance, [Linus got a comprehensive list]( of 10 different categories including background, lightning, and perspective. Nice. Second prompt – “Using these elements, tabulate, and populate 5 rows of example data, where food is hamburger.” You won’t believe this – but ChatGPT will [create an entire table]( of automatically filled, entirely different elements. Yep, you don't even have to come up with ideas on your own. Third prompt – "Take row 1 and write it out separate each col with a ," With this prompt, you’re telling ChatGPT to extract data from its own table. Sweet. You’ll get [a brilliant product description]( that you can tweak a bit or just copy/paste to your AI image generator and let it do its thing. And finally… [check out the final result]( for the prompt above. It took less than ten minutes to generate these four images. Wow. You can select and perfect the best image and use it however you want – in your email, in your ad creative, a website product copy, Instagram post… It’s your choice. Amazing, right? Go ahead and try the same for any product. Just replace “food photograph” with any niche – apparel, furniture, jewelery… And if you get some amazing outputs, make sure to let us know! Here’s what to know… [article-image] The pet industry has exploded in recent years. This growth, likely fueled by the pandemic—and also because pets are adorable and fun—creates a massive opportunity for marketers. So whether you’re starting one or marketing for one, or just want to uncover rock-solid principles for your own ads, lean in… … Because we went through hundreds of pet ads and identified the common themes in successful ones: - The pets are the stars of the ads. That may seem obvious, but lots of brands don’t do this. When you’re selling to pet owners, show them how happy their pet will be with your product. Don’t push boring product specifications. - Video ads dominate. Know what’s better than a picture of a cute dog? A video. These sorts of ads tend to perform better than static images. - Personal accounts tend to be more engaging. If you can, run your ads from a personal account. This isn’t always possible—and it’s easier if you use influencers—but personal videos of pets often perform better than brands using pets as “props” in marketing. Personal accounts feel genuine.
