LinkedIn has new features we think you’ll like, Instagram is adding new ad formats, and more. March 23, 2023 [Read in browser]( [logo] [sponsor]( Good morning. It’s official: we’ll never know who let the dogs out. [If ChatGPT can’t answer that question](… can anyone? Case closed. Some things are supposed to remain a mystery, we guess. INSTAGRAM Incoming: Two new handy ad types [article-image] Looks like your followers won’t be able to pull the “Oh no, that was today?” excuse anymore… Instagram is [rolling out two new ad types](, and they seem incredibly useful. Take a look… - Reminder ads. These appear in users’ feeds and give them the option to get reminders a day before, 15 minutes before, and at the time of your events and launches. Wonder if we’ll be able to see metrics on these…
- Ads in search results. When users search for brands, products, or content, ads will appear in their feed based on the search query. We’re only surprised this hasn’t happened sooner! When they’re available: Instagram says Reminder ads are available to all marketers, so you should see the “Add Reminder” option when you create a new post. Search ads will be rolling out worldwide in the next few months. Hey Insta, can we get a reminder about those? Don’t forget: If you’re running events or planning a big launch or promotion, being able to send timely reminders can dramatically improve attendance. It will be interesting to see how Instagram’s reminders perform. If you try them out, let us know how it goes! LINKEDIN We count one, two… three new features for LinkedIn Pages that we like Fashionably late, just like that cousin you see once a year for Christmas. But hey, it’s still good to see them! That’s how we feel about these [new company Page features](. On the calendar: You can now schedule posts for your company Page up to three months in advance. And to make your content strategy easier, you can of course view, and manage all scheduled posts… just in case there are any quick changes you need to implement. Remember Clubhouse? LinkedIn does! Because the second feature it announced is LinkedIn Audio Events. The nature of these events is obvious. What’s not obvious is whether audio-only is still a thing anymore. We shall see… Looking to hire: Last but not least, you can automatically share jobs as a Page post. If you activate this feature, LinkedIn will share one open role per day. Hey, thanks. Why we care: LinkedIn is still one platform where organic reach exists. From our experience, it’s worth coming up with a content strategy for it… especially for your personal profile. Sounds like these updates give company Pages a nice little push forward as well! [Try Vouch for free.]( SEO If you want to own your rankings, you have to own your branded search queries [article-image] Hunting for the best long-tail, zero-volume keyword might be thrilling… But while you’re out searching in the woods, your branded queries are getting taken away by affiliates, marketplaces, and other platforms. And as [Carl Hendy points out in this thread](, branded search can lead to an improved user journey for new and existing customers—and get you a ton of extra traffic. So if you want to rank, here are five simple queries you don’t want to sleep on… #1 – [brand] + [discount code]. A lot of times affiliates want to get the last click, so they’ll ramp up this query on their own website. Fair game, but you should fight back. Create a landing page that lists new and previous codes, optimize it, and use it as an opportunity to capture leads or even up your conversions. #2 – [restaurant brand] + [menu]. If you own a restaurant, you probably publish your menu as a PDF file. Pro tip? Don’t do that. Instead, add your menu page to your website. Food delivery companies will take this as an opportunity to rank for your meal queries. And if you don’t have a website, you can optimize your social profiles and grow your social channel that way. #3 – [brand] + [reviews]. When users search this query, they usually end up on review platforms, which aren’t always honest. Take competitor negative reviews, for instance. So add a review and testimonial page to your website and embed platform reviews if needed. You can also use chatbot and messaging to prevent negative and malicious reviews as well. #4 – [brand] vs [competitor brand]. This one’s tricky, because creating vs. pages can be perceived as a touchy subject. But you may see your brand ending up on these. To prevent potential customers going elsewhere—or being turned off from your brand due to your competitor’s article—provide a helpful, factual, and unbiased vs. landing page. #5 – [brand] + [logo image]. Believe it or not, publishers look for this if they’re writing about you. It’s important to give them a consistent, high-quality image on the web. A landing page with a high-quality logo can drive clicks to your domain where you can also add your contact information for press and potential collabs. Useful, right? There’s more from where that came from, so [check out the full thread]( so you can master your organic branding queries and start racking up those traffic numbers. [article-image] Yes, actually. If your store is not working to build an app for its customers, you’re trailing behind. With rising advertising costs, brands are looking for cheaper ways to get sales, and they’re turning to mobile apps. Afterall, you’ve got to meet your customers where they are, right? Here are three reasons why you should build your mobile app: - Improved user experience. Although your websites are built to be mobile-friendly, apps are built for mobile alone. Your customers live on their phones anyway, so why not give them a proper experience?
- Increased conversion rates. Mobile apps are engaging and fun, and you can collect customer data and recommend products they will like. Oh, and one-click checkout doesn’t hurt either.
- Push notifications. They’re free, effective, and grab attention on a phone’s home page. Who doesn’t like free marketing? The truth is, your customers live on their phones anyway, and a mobile app is the best possible user experience for phones. It also helps that in the sea of Instagram and Twitter notifications, your brand is bound to stand-out. … Worth keeping in mind if you’re hunting for a less costly, more effective marketing channel.
