Microsoft’s advertising audience now exceeds 1 billion. Also, Google’s cross-channel data-driven attribution model is now available. January 10, 2022 [Read in browser]( [logo] [sponsor]( Happy Monday! We are starting this year off right - with a giveaway. Want to join in on the fun? Well, we are raffling off a fully operational online business worth US$25,000, thanks to Flippa. To enter, you have to refer at least one person to our Stacked Marketer newsletter, as usual but there is one important restriction in place: you must be a resident of the US (except states of New York and Florida), or Canada (except Quebec), or the UK. [You can grab your referral link right here](, and you can read other details later in this newsletter. MICROSOFT ADS Microsoft now reaches 1 billion people through its ad network [article-image] Smaller ad networks aren’t as small as you think. [According to Microsoft internal data and Comscore](, Microsofts’ advertising audience exceeds one billion people. The company has reached the one billion milestone as of March 2021. Microsoft’s web properties spread across its search engine, Bing, as well as Outlook.com, Yahoo, AOL, Microsoft News/MSN, and several other Microsoft properties and premium news publishers. Overlapping audience: A good percentage of those one billion people are “overlapping audiences,” which means your ad can be shown multiple times across multiple Microsoft properties. You could, for example, first show your ad on Bing and then on Windows. Why we care: Microsoft is not one of the "big two" (Facebook and Google) ad networks, and it's difficult to gauge how "small" they truly are. Stats like these give us a sense of scale in case we decide to dip our toes into Microsofts’ ecosystem. GOOGLE Google Analytics 4 now has cross-channel data-driven attribution [Google has announced]( that the cross-channel data-driven attribution model (DDA) is now available in the Attribution reports (Conversion Paths and Model Comparison) within the Advertiser Workspace. DDA? Confused? Don't worry, we'll explain it in layman's terms. Attribution is hard. Especially after Apple’s privacy changed, which stripped us of a lot of data. As a response to this, companies like Google developed “data-driven attribution models.” This means that Google will use our data, as well as machine learning to try and attribute where our converting visitors came from. All of this functionality is gradually being added to Google Analytics 4, as we can see with this update. SPONSORED BY ONE VA AWAY How to hire without fear and make 2022 a 730 days year [article-image]( Every entrepreneur starts a new year with more ideas and goals than time to capitalize on them. In the last 15 years, [he created and honed a recruiting system]( that helped hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs to hire smoothly in as little as 7 steps. [Free your time and grow exponentially.]( E-COMMERCE How this pet brand bootstrapped to $100M in revenue [article-image] This 9-figure revenue is impressive already but the fact that this was done without any outside funding makes it even more impressive. Meet Pet Lab, a pet supplement brand that caught Jake Langley's attention. So, Jake dug into how this company works and [posted a Twitter thread on it](. He didn’t just show what they do but he showed how he would try to replicate what Pet Lab does. Some context: - Pet Lab said they had $100M in sales in 2020. - They get over 320k monthly visitors, mostly from Facebook, which tells us Facebook Ads is probably their main acquisition channel. - Their best-selling product is a dog joint supplement. The main lessons from Jake’s thread: - Google is your friend. With a simple search of “private label dog joint chews,” you can find plenty of manufacturers to work with without even needing to create your own formula. - Use Shopify. Even though Pet Lab has a custom front-end solution, their back-end is Shopify. - Branding and quality packaging are on you. Find the right people for this because this is one of the ways you can stand out. - Ship the product yourself at first, then use a third-party fulfillment center later once you start growing. - Advertise what your product does, and how it transforms the user. Pet Lab doesn’t talk about their “features,” they just show how dogs can benefit (or could have benefited) from their product. PetLab knows emotions sell. [Some examples are here.]( - Use dedicated landing pages that are not just a product page. - Increase customer LTV with a good quality product, a good experience, good customer support, additional products, and a monthly subscription. [poolside-logo] POOLSIDE CHAT Elon Musk's head on a goat’s body [article-image] No, this is not a scene from a horror film. It's a real project[that a group of crypto developers]( are working on right now. The project: The creators of the “Elon Goat Token” (yes, that’s the actual name of a crypto token) want to get more publicity for its cryptocurrency by building a statue of Elon Musk’s head on a goat body. Here’s where it gets even crazier. They plan to put the statue on the back of a trailer in Arizona, driving it across the US before dropping it off for Elon Musk himself in Texas and demanding that he accept the statue. We don’t know about you, but this appears to be one of those things that will either end spectacularly well or land them in serious trouble with the cops.
