[Image] Happy Friday! Hope you’ve had a great week — the market certainly has! In today’s Dark Money Trades rundown: - 👀 Last-minute smart money bets expiring soon - 💰 Recap of 2 interesting smart money bets from this week - 🔫 Ben’s Bullets in Review: How 3 of my big ideas for the week played out Read time: 3 minutes 🚀 Dark Money Scoop: Last-Minute Smart Money Trades Expiring Soon ⏳ Image source: Midjourney Hey, trader! It’s time for a look at today’s “last-minute” smart money trades of the week! First… do you remember the 3 ideas from last Friday’s newsletter? - AMD 12/15/2023 $133 CALLS @ $1.26 - MSFT 12/22/2023 $377.50 CALLS @ $4.15 - GOOGL 12/22/2023 $135 PUTS @ $2.20 Well… I gave an update here on Monday, but through the week, they’ve continued to be extremely impressive… With the peak potential moves of those 3 trades coming out to: - 596.03% on AMD - 18.07% on MSFT - 144.55% on GOOGL So, for this week… Here are 3 more smart money trades that hit my scanner in the LAST minute of the trading day, today… All coming close to their expiration dates! First up: Ticker: CYTK Strike Price: $15 puts Bet Size: $249.6K # of Contracts: 1,040 Expiration Date: 1/19/2024 Time of Trade: 03:59:50 PM Average Price: $2.40 CYTK closed today at $36.07 — making these puts WAY out of the money. At over 50% out of the money, this is a BIG bet, so I’ll be interested to see what happens here. (Just bear in mind… $1.2M also came through for the CYTK $55 calls, expiring the same day, at 3:46pm and 3:56pm, too. Could someone be setting up a strangle strategy? I’ll be keeping my eyes on this name to see what happens!) Second: Ticker: GOOGL Strike Price: $137 calls Bet Size: $137.5K # of Contracts: 5,092 Expiration Date: Next Friday – 12/22/2023 Time of Trade: 03:59:51 PM Average Price: $0.27 GOOGL closed today at $132.60, meaning that GOOGL will need to make a solid jump for these to get close to the money. At just $0.27 a piece, though, a move higher could really send these calls soaring. (These $137 calls actually hit TWICE in the last minute, on two separate trades!) Third: Ticker: NVDA Strike Price: $480 puts Bet Size: $357.2K # of Contracts: 760 Expiration Date: Next Friday – 12/22/2023 Time of Trade: 03:59:06 PM Average Price: $4.70 NVDA closed today at $488.90, meaning this name will have to drop a couple bucks to get into the money. But after the up-and-down month NVDA’s had, a drop to $480 isn’t out of the question! I’ll be curious to see how these move early next week, and if the traders behind these ideas made the right call! 💰The Biggest Smart-Money Bets of the Week💰 $700K bearish bet on AMZN DEC 15 2023 $140 puts @ $0.50 (seen on 12/11) $119K bullish bet on GOOGL DEC 15 $134 calls @ $1.20 (seen on 12/11) How’d these big bets do? AMZN had a great week, ending today close to the high for the week… (Which also happens to be AMZN’s highest price since April of 2022!) Unfortunately for the trader who made this bet, these puts sank throughout the week. Fortunately for me, the trade idea I shared on AMZN on Monday did really well (check it out in the Ben’s Bullets recap)! As for GOOGL, despite a few positive bumps during the week… These $134 calls mostly trickled down through the week, too. GOOGL never broke above $133.72 this week… Which was the ultimate demise of this insider bet. 🔫 Ben’s Bullets A follow-up on 3 interesting ideas I kept an eye on in the market this week: - AMZN DEC 29 $148 CALLS — despite a blip downward yesterday afternoon, these calls crushed this week. After closing on Monday at $2.36, these went on to hit a high of $4.45, for a peak potential move of 88.56%! - TOST DEC 15 $16 CALLS — I hope you caught some of this wild ride! After closing Monday at $0.30, these hit a high of $1.45 just after Thursday’s open, for a peak max move of 383.33%! Holy guacamole! 🥑 - GOOGL DEC 15 $136 CALLS — GOOGL, on the other hand, moved mostly sideways this week, causing these calls to lower in value through the week. A good lesson in the importance of knowing your levels! Okay, before I leave you for the weekend… You need to hear about the next BIG trade opportunity I’m looking at. I talk about it in this urgent video message below: You’re gonna want to see it asap… To prepare for what could be some explosive moves in the market next week.
