TRUSTED sources confirmed Sony will soon announce a completely redesigned [70-200mm f/4.0 G lens](. It has two important new features: - macro capability - It will be more compact than the [current 70-200mm G lens](. - Will be on market this summer A NEW source just sent me this (I am not sure if this is correct info but it sounds legit): Saw your post about the new 70-200 f4. I have seen a preproduction version of this lens and can tell you that it will be shorter (by about 30%?) than the existing lens. Wider too, and better build quality, but a similar weight and fully internal focusing. The original has a week point in the middle and if dropped it can snap at that point.
