- The Mets had some luck in pulling off the win, too. Kevin Pillar got a gift call that led to a walk to put two on for McCann, and Edwin Diaz missed giving up a game-tying home run by a few feet in the ninth.
- Tylor Megill (5 IP, 3 ER, 5 H, 8 K) was imperfect but kept the Mets in the game. Drew Smith, Trevor May, Seth Lugo and Diaz pitched a scoreless inning each.
