Get Today’s New York Sports Here Tweet of the Day --------------------------------------------------------------- Good morning, 👋 and welcome to The Warm-Up! Another PSA from the Jets: Longtime fan J.B. Smoove [wants you to do some lamping](. --------------------------------------------------------------- On SNY.tv/videos... BNNY: Living Room Edition - [How will Matt Harvey be remembered?]( Out of Office Replies - [Kaz Famuyide has some advice for Leon Rose]( - [Jon Hein shares a Stern story]( FYI: We might find a way for everyone to watch the Mets this week.... 👀 --------------------------------------------------------------- Today's word count: 581 words (about five minutes) --------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Robby Anderson's stagnant search for a contract SNY graphic Nine days into the NFL's free agency period, Robby Anderson -- the Jets' most productive offensive player over the last three seasons -- is still unsigned. It has been a down year for the wide receiver market in general. It also doesn't help that the 2020 wide receiver draft class is exceptionally deep. So, when is Anderson's payday coming? And how much will it be? SNY's Ralph Vacchiano [examined those questions]( yesterday on SNY.tv. Here's what one agent told Vacchiano: - "At this point, he's got to be thinking about getting the best deal he can from the Jets. He can still get a decent deal for maybe one or two years, and then be back on the market when the (NFL salary) cap starts to go way up. He'll still be young. Maybe his numbers go up and he can really cash in then." Here's what other marquee to semi-marquee free agents have gotten over the past week, with only one truly cashing in: - Amari Cooper, five years, $100 million with Dallas. - Randall Cobb, three years, $27 million with Houston. - Emmanuel Sanders, two years, $16 million with New Orleans. Anderson, 26, is still well-regarded by the Jets, reported Vacchiano, but only at a price that general manager Joe Douglas has already set. Will he end up back with the Jets? The longer he stays on the open market the likelier that is, wrote Vacchiano: - "... the longer Anderson waits, his price is more likely to go down than up. - So if Douglas' strategy was to wait Anderson out, it appears to be working. And it's increasingly possible that whatever the Jets are offering will turn out to be the best that Anderson can get." On SNY.tv: [Jordan Jenkins returns to Jets on one-year deal]( | [How do the Jets' offensive line additions fit into their system?]( --------------------------------------------------------------- DAILY TRIVIA Who owns the Jets' franchise record for receiving touchdowns? 2. This week on SNY is all you can watch Mets @snytv/Twitter The bad news: If times were normal, the Mets would be playing real, regular season baseball in two days. The good news: As far as Mets games go, we still have you covered. The picture above has our baseball-heavy schedule, a string of 24 games from the 2019 season, which started Monday and will run through Thursday. PS: The games being shown are all the victories from the Mets' fantastic run this past summer, when they got back in the playoff race by ripping off 25 wins in 38 games. --------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Highlights from the archive NHL/YouTube GIF'd above: Dominic Moore's Game 6 goal against the Montreal Canadiens in the 2014 Eastern Conference Finals. It was the only goal of the game, and sent the Rangers to their first Stanley Cup Final since 1994. What happened after that ... well ... there's no need to rehash. --------------------------------------------------------------- 4. The New York Minute - Stan Van Gundy, on [the two New York coaching jobs]( "Of the two the Nets are the better job. There's no question about that right now. The organization has been more stable. They've won more games. They have more talent." - [From SNY's Andy Martino:]( How I accidentally dehumanized Matt Harvey while covering the Mets - [Here are some]( options if the Giants choose to trade down in the NFL Draft. - Running back Dion Lewis and the Giants have agreed [on a one-year deal]( SNY's Ralph Vacchiano confirmed Monday. The Giants [also brought back]( Corey Coleman on a one-year deal Monday. - The Jets [have donated]( $1 million to help fight COVID-19. - [From USA Today:]( The Olympics have been postponed, with a 2021 makeup date the likeliest option. - 27 years ago yesterday, Knicks guard Doc Rivers [was ready with the hands](. --------------------------------------------------------------- Trivia answer: Don Maynard, with 88. That's the buzzer, folks. Enjoy your Tuesday. This email was sent by: SportsNet New York (SNY) 150 Greenwich st 50th floor New York, NY 10007 US [Unsubscribe]( [Twitter]( [Instagram]( [Facebook](
