Introduction 1.1. About INSPIRATION The aim of INSPIRATION is to adopt a funder and end-user demand-driven approach to establish and promote the adoption of a strategic research agenda for land use, land-use changes and soil management in the light of current and future societal challenges. Main objectives are: ? Formulate, consult on and revise an end-user oriented strategic research agenda (SRA); ? Scope out models of implementing the SRA; ? Prepare a network of public and private funding institutions willing to commonly fund the execution of the SRA. INSPIRATIONâs mission is to improve the supply and effectiveness of science/knowledge take-up by those who really need it. The proposed methodology is based on a multistakeholder, multi-national and interdisciplinary approach that covers the variety of stakeholders (public bodies, business, science, citizens and society) and the variety of relevant funders. The vehicle to engage with all relevant stakeholders across the Member States is a National Focal Point (NFP) in 16 countries. The NFPâs will organize workshops with national stakeholders of funders, end-users and researchers across the various soil and land management disciplines. The results will be taken up, structured along four integrative themes and merging into thematic knowledge needs to satisfy the as yet unmet societal challenges and to ensure that knowledge contributes primarily to enable meeting these challenges. Based on these results, a cross-country and cross-discipline dialogue will subsequently be organized among the relevant user communities, funding bodies and scientific communities in Europe in order to reach a trans-national, prioritized SRA as well as a model for execution of this SRA. Thus a SRA will be produced which will give national funders confidence that for each Euro they spend, they will get multiple Euroâs worth of knowledge in return in order to address their national societal challenges. This deliverable This report â i.e. INSPIRATION deliverable D5.1 â describes website and the intranet created for external and internal communication about and on the project. This deliverable relates to INSPIRATION Work Package (WP) 5 âInternational Dissemination and Communicationâ, task 5.4 âDissemination of SRA and the proposed implementation modelsâ, which included the objectives: âInstallation of the project web site and project Intranet (an internal project platform as document management instrument and archive within the INSPIRATION consortium)â and âSetting up and regular updates of the project website, linked with existing high traffic portals and networks operating in this field (EUGRIS, .. others)â. HORIZON2020 CSA INSPIRATION Deliverable D5.1 Project website and project intranet www.inspiration-h2020.eu 5 2. The project website structure The website is accessible at: www.inspiration-h2020.eu All sections of the website have on top the INSPIRATION logo and reference to the HORIZON 2020 funding by the European Union. Also a search function, a link to the main page âhomeâ and to the ânewsâ area is included on a top line accessible from all sub-pages. 2.1. Main page The main page presents the project INSPIRATION at a glance, as well as the latest news. Moreover, 4 slides focus on the 4 themes that will be elaborated on in INSPIRATIONâs WP 3 âTransnational commons aggregated under integrated themesâ (Figure 1) â these are presented as flexible elements on the site, moving from one to another. Figure 1: Website main page The site also refers to the latest News. In order to keep the website attractive for external users, all partners are requested to report to BRGM ? v.guerin@brgm.fr and s.coussy@brgm.fr any potential news related to the project that could be added. About INSPIRATION This part contains five specific bullet points: ? project background and objectives: detailed presentation of the project; ? project structure: brief description of each work package (see Figure 2 below); ? consortium: description of each INSPIRATION partner and a link to their respective websites; ? international advisory board: description of the role of the IAB and names of the institutions represented in the IAB; ? Land challenges This part describes the 4 overarching, integrated themes as developed in INSPIRATIONâs WP3: Natural resources (see ? Figure 3 below); ? Land management; ? Natural capital stewardship; ? Net impacts. The description of each theme is linked to the slides of the main page. Figure 3: "Natural resources" page HORIZON2020 CSA INSPIRATION Deliverable D5.1 Project website and project intranet www.inspiration-h2020.eu 8 2.2.3. Activities The activities section is divided into national activities and international activities. For the national activities, one page per country participating to INSPIRATION is presented (see the example of the Austrian national page in Figure 4). The national pages indicate the aim of INSPIRATION in each country, the name and contact of the National Focal Point (NFP) and the INSPIRATION national partners. These pages give also information on the national workshops (e.g. planned date). Each page is foreseen to be translated into the respective national language. In order to keep the website attractive for external users, all partners are requested to update national activities regularly (report to BRGM ? v.guerin@brgm.fr and s.coussy@brgm.fr). The international activities page indicates the links to several international networks dedicated to soil, land use and land management. It will also be used to report on project activities at international level. Outcomes The INSPIRATION outcomes are constituted in particular of the Strategic Research Agenda (SRA), the implementation plan and the deliverables (see Figure 5). For the beginning of the project, only the deliverable part is regularly updated, because the SRA and implementation plan are key results of INSPIRATION, which are foreseen at later stage of the project. However, we will continuously update the website visitors with the activities conducted in the project towards the elaboration of the SRA. Get involved This subsection gives the contact of INSPIRATION coordinators (Detlef Grimski and Stephan Bartke), as well as a link to the page âINSPIRATION newsâ and to a newsletter. The first newsletter is foreseen for autumn 2015, coinciding with the national workshops. 2.2.6. Glossary This part corresponds to the glossary of terms presented in the deliverable D2.3 (see Figure 6). It will be regularly updated since the definitions could evolve during the project, and other terms could be selected. Figure 6: Glossary of terms HORIZON2020 CSA INSPIRATION Deliverable D5.1 Project website and project intranet www.inspiration-h2020.eu 11 2.3. Means to achieve good referencing of the website Links to the official website of each partner have been added. Vice versa, all partners will be asked to link back to the INSPIRATION website. Actualities are created as often as possible, i.e. at the moment, mainly by adding public deliverables, articles about INSPIRATION produced by partners in their country, information about events where INSPIRATION was presented. Email will be sent on a regular basis to all partners in order to collect news from them to keep the website up to date and of interest for the projectâs stakeholders. Partners are requested to create short descriptions of the project on their home organizations website and to link from there to the official INSPIRATION website. 2.4. INSPIRATION website and collaborative intranet The possibility to develop a collaborative intranet accessible from the website was studied. But it was decided to use another tool that offers more flexibility: the Seafile tool. Seafile is a open-source cloud storage software: . BRGM has chosen this free tool and has deployed and adapted it to provide a collaborative workspace for research projects in partnership with BRGM. Data are stored on a BRGM server (secure and backup data). The interface is in English by default, but with ability to be customized: several languages are available. The list of available languages in Seafile tool is defined below (Figure 7). Figure 7: Languages available for the intranet menu The software is available for various environments: Windows, Linux, Mac. A user notice for downloading the tool is available on the internet. The capacity of the work space that will be dedicated to INSPIRATION is 1.5 GB. The connection to the tool is possible at the following address: . Detailed information on the Intranet is provided to the INSPIRATION consortium as part of the project milestone MS2-WP5 (project internal).
