Story time! ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Story time! ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ So friend, I know some success stories make you think “well duh, of course this worked” when you read them. (I mention this because [we just released video 2 of the free Amazon Defense // Acceleration Method]( where Brett talks through our Amazon launch story) But just because they turn out great doesn't mean it seemed like such an easy win before starting. In fact, it can be scary! So gather 'round because I'm going to tell you about the 3 reasons we almost didn't launch on Amazon and why I'm so glad we did. (Plus at the bottom of this email I’ll show you our Amazon sales snapshot) Reason 1: If someone buys on Amazon, it's not my customer When prospects visit our website, we own the experience 100% from experience to purchase. And we get buyers' email addresses! I used to believe owning all that was the only possible way to scale. But now I know Amazon has fantastic brand storefronts where you can mimic your website experience and add A+ conversion content to drive sales. And Amazon conversion rates can be as high as 20%! That’s absolutely nutty. And while we aren't getting email addresses, we are converting a group of buyers we were totally missing before which brings me to anxiety number 2. (Learn more about our launch in [video 2 of the Amazon Defense // Acceleration Method training]( Reason 2: Amazon might steal my product We've all heard terrifying tales about Amazon launching copycat products and some businesses getting burned. But like most ghost stories, these make us stress about the wrong thing. Worrying about Amazon copying your product is a distraction from the real problem - copycats already knocking off your brand and monetizing the traffic you're sending to the platform. Some customers will only buy on Amazon. And if you're not on the platform, these cheap knockoffs set up shop to snag your potential buyers, typically giving them a worse experience and product. Reason 3: All my Shopify customers will start buying on Amazon This last one was my biggest concern. What if I set up an Amazon shop and all my current customers start buying there instead? The margins aren't as favorable and I have less visibility into the customer journey. Despite this concern we launched, but kept a close eye on Shopify sales. And in the 12 months after launching on Amazon, we didn't see a slow down in sales on our website! So those were my 3 concerns, but I’m glad I worked through them. Like I promised, here’s our Amazon sales snapshot. Not bad for less than 2 years on the platform: Amazon has been all upside for BOOM! And with my newest brand, oVertone, we made sure to get a strong presence on the platform as soon as possible. I'm so glad we launched on the platform and frankly, I just wish I hadn't waited so long. But better late than never! If you're intrigued, Brett covers even more launch details & strategies in the [video we just released for our Amazon Defense // Acceleration Method training](.
