Walmart's Manager Academy, a leadership training program the retailer established nearly two years ago, brings together groups of 50 Walmart and Sam's Club store managers from across the US most weeks to learn compassionate leadership skills. Artemis Patrick, president of Sephora North America, will also become its first woman CEO on April 1, with plans to develop the retailer's skin and hair care lineup and oversee a five-year store refurbishment project. Patrick, who moved to the US from Iran at age eight and entered foster care two years later says her experiences taught her the importance of "paying it forward."
