In their first 100 days on the job, female CEOs must contend with biases their male counterparts don't face and need to quickly get up to speed on strategies involving a personal brand, feedback and boundaries, notes Libby Vincent, a consultant for new female CEOs. Unconscious bias and stereotypes are partially to blame for female CEOs having an average tenure of 4.7 years compared with men's 8.1 years, as well as the fact that female CEOs are 45% more likely to be fired than male CEOs, according to a 2018 study, and often jump before they're pushed out.
