Sometimes you do have to mess with "Mister In-between," as the song says, and come up with a strategy to handle all the emotions that arise in the course of a day. "Unless we validate our negativity, we will continue to experience shame and isolation because we're afraid to be authentic," Quy reminds us. A process of labeling our emotions as they come up can help neutralize them so we don't get overwhelmed.
