For the first time in the 68-year history of the Fortune 500, women hold more than 10% of CEO posts at the listed companies, thanks to five new appointees who stepped into their roles at the beginning of this month. Fifty-three women now hold the top job at Fortune 500 companies, and women are also taking over other leadership roles outside of the CEO position at major brands like The North Face and Nike.
