The titanic turtle likely had a body length of around 12.3 feet (3.7 meters) — more than double the size of modern marine turtles — and is the largest turtle species ever uncovered in Europe. The new treatment, called teplizumab-mzwv (brand name Tzield), is a lab-made protein that behaves like an antibody made by the human immune system. Once in the body, the so-called monoclonal antibody latches onto immune cells called T cells and reprograms them so they don't aggressively attack insulin-producing in the pancreas.
