Despite a growing number of consumer privacy laws in development and being enacted, only 13% of businesses had received consumer opt-out requests by July 2020, while 51% plan to invest in data discovery, inventory and mapping and 34% expect to work on consent and preference management, according to research from BigID and the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
