Over half of Americans have listened to a podcast and almost one-third now listen to at least one each month, up from one-quarter at the same time last year, per a survey from Edison Research and Triton Digital. Some 40% of respondents ages 12 to 24 tuned in to a podcast last month, up 10% from 2018, and 17% of respondents who are older than 55 are monthly listeners, an increase from 13% last year.
