Big data analytics that track behavioral trends in an organization can be beneficial in combating cybercriminals, a Business Application Research Center report states. The survey revealed 53% of businesses using big data in this manner reported a "high" benefit to business, while 41% reported a "moderate" benefit.

One-quarter of US businesses have purchased cyberinsurance as policies have become more accessible, a survey by the Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers has found. About two-thirds of organizations renewing in the past six months kept their cyberinsurance coverage level the same, while the remainder expanded their coverage, the survey found.

[Small businesses faced with threat of cyberattacks]
Cybercriminals have increasingly shifted their focus to small businesses in recent years, reports cybersecurity company Symantec. Last year, 43% of cyberattacks were launched against businesses with fewer than 250 workers, Symantec found. The House Committee on Small Business discussed the issue during recent hearings.

[Report: Bank Web apps are a major target for hackers]
Forty-eight percent of data breaches among banks last year involved Web apps, and two-factor authentications are the best way to fight them, Verizon's Data Breach Investigation Report states. The report also states that banks are still seeing distributed denial-of-service attacks, that phishing is a common starting point for breaches and that hackers are targeting vulnerabilities that have been known for years.
