The demand for hybrid or remote work is 10% higher among women than men, especially among women balancing home and child care, however being away from the office means women may be missing out on resources and opportunities available to people working in the office, says Martine Haas, a professor at the Wharton business school at the University of Pennsylvania and director of the Lauder Institute for Management and International Studies. To ensure a smooth hybrid or remote work environment, leaders need to consider "how we design our onboarding processes, our mentoring processes, our talent development and skill-training processes, to make sure that people are really equipped and have the skills that they need," Haas says.
