Greetings Investors, Isotopes⦠this word may take some of you back to Chemistry 101. Itâs a word that could soon position quietly trading NASDAQ company ASP Isotopes, Inc. (ASPI) into becoming a powerful Big Board giant! This may be one of the most pivotal times to have the company on your radar as itâs trading under $1 right now. Many people have no idea what isotopes are and why they are so important. Isotopes are like identical twins or triplets: very similar in most aspects, except for subtle few differences. They are two or more types of atoms of the same chemical element that have same number of protons and electrons (hence the same chemical properties), but slightly different number of neutrons (hence slightly different weight and physical properties). Leaving out the scientific jargon, in nature isotopes are mixed together, just like M&M chocolate candies: same composition, same taste, same size â just different colors. Isotope separation process should sort them out into fraction of exactly the same types. The problem is that the separation process is very challenging and expensive precisely because isotopes are so similar to each other, with only minor weight differences! This is what makes ASPI a critical company to have on your watch listâ¦. Over the past 18 years, ASPIâs scientists have developed the Aerodynamic Separation Process (ASP) that allows for the enrichment of isotopes that either cannot be enriched, or are challenging to enrich, using traditional approaches. Specifically, the companyâs technology allows them to enrich elements with both low and high atomic masses. ASPI is not targeting one big industry, but THREE: Medical, Green Energy, and Industrial. AND⦠there has already been significant interest from potential customers in the technology! The separation of isotopes has been important during the past century, enabling key activities: - Improved medical diagnostic imaging and the treatment of various diseases and cancers.
- Generation of green nuclear energy.
- Advanced analytical methods for industrial applications.
- Geological experiments and radiocarbon dating.
- Food irradiation to reduce pathogen/ In the foreseeable future separation of new isotopes may catalyze new exciting breakthroughs such as Quantum computing, Advanced medical therapies and diagnostic procedures, as well as Satellites and space crafts. For an example of how ASPI is already standing out⦠Quantum Computers are expected to be 1,000x more powerful than todayâs conventional computers and to create new opportunities in medicine, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, finance, logistics and other industries. Quantum Computing required ultra-pure Si-28 â which is currently not available at any price on commercial scale. Well ASPI could purify natural Si mix of isotopes which may allow for higher performance of Si-based chips! Since the founding of ASPI, the world has changed dramatically, and the need for new isotope enrichers has never been greater. The existing supply chain for established isotopes has always been fragile, and historically, Russia and China have been the largest providers of enriched isotopes. Given the current geopolitical events, many countries and companies are re-evaluating the identity, ownership and location of their suppliersâ¦. These supply-side shocks are occurring at a time when the need for new isotope products has never been greater, and the range of previously unrecognized applications is rising rapidly, all directly or indirectly linked to changing approaches to energy and security. New isotope production will only enable many of the emerging global megatrends such as advanced healthcare, quantum computing, new small, safe nuclear reactors and green nuclear fusion involving Hydrogen. Currently, there are few or no suppliers for many of these highly specialized isotopes which is a big advantage for ASPI and its game-changing technology! ASPIâS goal is to become a leading producer of isotopes for specialist applications and at current levels could represent an enormous value! ASP Isotopes Inc. [( NASDAQ: ASPI Company Overview: ASP Isotopes Inc., a pre-commercial stage advanced materials company that focuses on the production, distribution, marketing, and sale of isotopes. It develops Molybdenum-100, a non-radioactive isotope for the medical industry; Carbon-14; and Silicon-28. The company also Uranium-235, an isotope of uranium for carbon-free energy industry. ASPIâs initial focus is on the production of Molybdenum-100 which it expects to compete with Molybdenum-99, which is currently used to produce technetium-99m, the most frequently used imaging radionuclide. The supply chain is highly complex and plagued by regular supply interruptions, which in turn is associated with serious implications for both hospitals and patients. The Global Mo-99 market is estimated at > $3bn! Nine of the ten nuclear reactors that currently produce Mo-99 globally are expected to cease operations by 2030. Many companies and governments are searching for alternative methods of producing Technetium-99m that does not involve the fission of uranium. This could bode extremely well for ASPI! The companyâs technology also makes ASPI ideally situated to resolve the widely anticipated supply shortage of HALEU. This is the fuel that will power the nuclear reactors of the future!Their technology should allow ASPI to construct a HALEU plant at a lower cost and in a shorter timeframe than alternative technologies! Company Highlights: In the last 18 months, ASPI has had some major milestones: - Successfully acquired two incomplete ASP plants in Pretoria, South Africa, and obtained the required licenses from the nuclear regulators, including the Non-proliferation Council of South Africa, to complete construction of the plants and produce commercial product. - Successful completion and cold commissioning of the first manufacturing plant, capable of enriching light isotopes. - Entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a North American customer for the entire offtake of the Company's first light isotope plant. - Continued construction of the second isotope enrichment facility, including procurement of all major long lead items. - Entered into a 25-year supply agreement for up to $27m per annum of highly enriched Molybdenum-100 with BRICEM (Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Engineering Metallurgy). - Completion of initial public offering on NASDAQ. Recently ASPI CEO Paul Mann spoke to Proactive after announcing the conclusion of the construction and cold commissioning of a light isotope enrichment facility in Pretoria, South Africa. Mann highlights the importance of isotopes for many of the most promising emerging technologies in realms including quantum computing, healthcare and sustainable energy. Mann has said that future technologies "are not going to work without isotopes!â You can watch the video here: [( Disruption and Shift in Supply: Recent Disruptions in Supply and Forthcoming Re-Balance - Recent geopolitical events mean that purchasers of isotopes are re-evaluating who and where their suppliers are. - Many countries are reliant on suppliers in other countries for isotopes that are essential to everyday life. The global and regional supply/demand for isotopes is at an inflection point. Existing supply chains for established isotopes are fragile with a worsening outlookâ¦. - Almost all (9 out 10) old nuclear reactors that currently produce the global supply of molybdenum-99 are expected to stop production during the next 10 years. - Many countries have a desire to be self-sufficient in isotopes that are essential to everyday life. - Due to its active nuclear program, Russia has been a large producer and exporter of many critical isotopes that many Western countries have become reliant on. Recent geopolitical events have made many countries try to become more self-sufficient, notably with a suddenly strong preference for non-Russian isotopes (and also preferably non-Chinese isotopes). ASPIâs technology is ideally suited for small enrichment facilities that can produce highly specialized isotopes or allow a country to become self-sufficient in a particular isotope! Key 2023 Goals: - Completion of a second, larger isotope enrichment facility, which is capable of enriching kilogram quantities of various isotopes. - Entering into additional customer contracts for the remaining capacity of this second facility. - Starting commercial production and commercial supply of at least two isotopes - Securing the required permits for the construction of additional plants during the 2024 to 2027 timeframe. The company believes this next location will benefit from renewable energy, which is typically very cost-advantaged vs. any global alternative for a long-period supply contract. In Summary⦠Many emerging global megatrends in new healthcare technologies and advanced quantum computing innovations require a large and reliable supply of specialty isotopes. In addition, it is widely recognized that new suppliers of isotopes will be required for the supply of green energy so that the world can meet longer-term carbon climate goals. ASPI is in dialogue with all the large-scale companies and governmental institutions involved in delivering these global mega-trends! ASPIâs management background includes extensive experience investing in both the healthcare industry and the chemicals processing industry. They immediately recognized the potential value of the companyâs technology and were able to acquire the assets. They then raised sufficient capital that would allow the company to advance the construction of its facilities. Only 14 months after incorporation, ASPI became listed on the NASDAQ. And importantly, just 17 months from incorporation, it has commenced operations at its first isotope enrichment production facility. The scale and the commercial opportunities that could be ahead are extremely exciting and ASPIâs technology could deliver unique products to the world.
