Hey, 25.6% of all SEO searches are now zero-click, meaning that even if you rank highly for those keywords, you won't get traffic coming to your site. 🥲 Good user experience, but bad for you. Here's what you can do to preserve  and grow your SEO traffic: 1. Look for long-tail keywords Even if you can't rank for the main keyword, you can still rank for long-tail keywords related to it. For example, instead of trying to rank for "shoes", try ranking for "men's running shoes" or "women's dress shoes". Long-tail SERPs are less likely to have zero-click features which means more traffic for you. To find SERPs with zero-click features, read on. 2. Avoid the zero-click results altogether You can use tools like Ahrefs and SEMrush to see which keywords have snippet features on them. Simply filter those out to avoid competing on those types of SERPs. Go where it's a blue ocean instead of a red ocean (less competition). 3. Diversify your traffic sources Don't put all your traffic eggs into one basket. Diversify into other channels, especially the ones that have strong organic reach, such as: LinkedIn Twitter YouTube Short form video Obviously DYOR to see where your target audience is hanging out. Don't forget about podcasts, email, SMS, etc. 4. Build a community The previous point focused more on audience building. Once you have an audience, start to think about building a community. This means virtual and live events where like-minded people get to hang out with each other and build relationships. Introverts and extroverts alike all long for community because of all the serendipitous magic that happens. Communities serve as a retention mechanism. I've been in many communities for years because of the recurring value that they provide. 5. Optimize for zero-click searches If you want, you can compete for zero-click searches. The main goal here would be for brand visibility, not necessarily bringing in organic traffic. This means focusing on schema markups, images, video, and fast answers. If you have keywords ranking 3-10 on a zero-click SERP, then it might be worth it. Otherwise, I'd leave it alone. But also don't forget about the importance of diversifying your audience and building a community. Community building will become even more important as SEO continues to evolve. At Single Grain, we're leveling up our capabilities to stay on top of trends so we can continue to push innovative marketing that drives more traffic and conversions. [Feel free to book a chat to get a free marketing plan here](. -Eric To make sure you keep getting these emails, please add eric@singlegrain.com to your address book or whitelist us.
