theCUBE analysis + upcoming broadcasts [Cisco-Splunk under the microscope: Joint customers weigh in]( In this week’s edition of Analysis]( Dave Vellante discusses Cisco's $28 billion acquisition of Splunk. The move is seen as a positive outcome for Splunk and a strategic growth opportunity for Cisco.
Splunk had faced challenges during its transition to a cloud and subscription pricing model, which affected its financial performance. Cisco's acquisition is expected to bring more software and an additional $4 billion in ARR, with a focus on international growth.
Looking at the data “I do think there's some legitimacy to the fact that Splunk has been in the data business and been doing AI for a long time, as have many, if not most software companies,” Vellante said. “This is not specifically an AI deal … data supports Cisco's assertion that there's not a huge product overlap. That doesn't seem to be a major concern here.”
In this special Breaking Analysis, theCUBE collaborates with Enterprise Technology Research’s Erik Bradley to share the results of ETR’s recent flash survey assessing joint customer perceptions and likely spending actions as a result of the Cisco acquisition of Splunk.
