TheCUBE Breaking Analysis + upcoming livestreams [The semiconductor rebound may signal a broader tech recovery - here's why.]( A rebound in semiconductor stocks has many investors asking if this is a harbinger of good news for the broader enterprise tech sector. Indeed, the SOXX semiconductor index is up nearly 30% year to date, as are leading indicators in that group, including Applied Materials and Lam Research. "But Nvidia is up over 90% year to date, and AMD up over 50%. Even the beleaguered Intel is up 22% year to date as of mid-day on the last trading day in March. But key enterprise software names have not yet rebounded," noted Wikibon chief analyst Dave Vellante in this week's episode of [Breaking Analysis](. And according to one investor, the divergence between semis and B2B software is getting hard to ignore. In the full episode for theCUBE, Vellante looks to answer the question: Is the performance of semiconductors an early indicator of a broader enterprise tech recovery, or is this a false signal that warrants continued caution? To examine these issues, theCUBE welcomes back Ivana Delevska, founder and chief investment officer of Spear Invest. “Going into the second quarter of 2022, we saw a pretty significant downside: 40%, 50% in terms of revenue declines in some segments for the semiconductors. And as we’re coming out of it, we’re seeing the opposite dynamic happen. So you are seeing the market stabilize, but the channel inventories are pretty low. As those [inventories] need to be rebuilt, you’re going to see an uptick in demand,” Delevska explained. With so many recent technological, political and economic system failures making headlines, the throughline is that America and the tech sector need a total reboot. Citing Vellante’s weekly Breaking Analysis podcast, the duo ends with a positive note, discussing the possible market rebound semiconductor stocks might signal. “Musk” and “trust” are essentially antonyms in the tech, business and consumer worlds. Furrier derides Musk’s warning that OpenAI is evolving too rapidly as fear mongering. Both Furrier and Vellante agree that, in an effort to slow down his competition, Musk is capitalizing on the popular misconception that AI will take jobs from humans and, true to sensational sci-fi form, dominate human-kind. Learn why Musk’s attempt to halt AI development for six months may backfire, and connect the dots between Trumpism, the crypto winter and a possible tech market rebound on theCUBE Pod [here](.
