Having the pleasure of serving in this office alone is monumental and a testament to women's hard work and sacrifices throughout our history. Leaders like Patsy Takemoto Mink and Shirley Chisholm paved the way for women like myself, challenging the status quo and creating a seat at the table for diversity where there once was none. I have devoted my life to championing inclusivity in honor of their legacy, and today I restore my commitment to the fight for intersectional equality.
