What would happen if the Avengers and Deadpool actually met on the big screen? Shmoop has a few ideas. Is this email not displaying correctly? [View it in your browser](. [Shmoop University Inc.]( Hey, Shmoopers, So far, 2018 has been the year of the superhero. Superhero movies, that is. Black Panther broke records and movie-goers' minds. Avengers: Infinity War took 2.5 hours to end on the most depressing cliffhanger of all time. And this weekend, Deadpool 2 will hit the silver screen with what we can only assume will be twice the snark, twice the comedic violence, and enough cursing to make Captain America blush. (Seriously...Deadpool loves to curse. Proceed cautiously if that's not your cup of tea, folks.) Watching all these movies has us wondering: what would happen if the Avengers met Deadpool? Could Deadpool be the newest Avenger to join the crew? (Pending that Disney takeover of Fox, of course.) And what do they put in that movie theater popcorn that makes it so irresistible? In honor of all things good and Marvel-lous, here's our take on the Avengers' first big-screen encounters with Deadpool. The Avengers Meet Deadpool in Avengers XII: 2 Infinity 2 War [Iron Man]( Iron Man and Deadpool meet and immediately get into a battle of snark, each trying to see who can out-irreverent the other. Eventually, the rest of the Avengers get bored of watching and [leave to grab some shawarma instead](. [Spiderman]( Cue several shots of Peter Parker running down his high school hallways crying, "Mr. Wilson, please put down that katana!" [Captain America]( Captain America is not amused by Deadpool's colorful language. Deadpool is not amused by Captain America's righteous new beard. ...they both agree to disagree. Black Panther Black Panther and Deadpool have a polite conversation about emerging cancer research in Wakanda. (Side note: stay tuned for a Shmoop movie guide to Black Panther—coming soon to a computer near you.) [Black Widow]( Deadpool thinks Black Widow is on his side, but the audience knows that she's actually on Iron Man's side. Turns out everyone is wrong, and Black Widow is actually on the side of whoever gives her a feature movie. (Seriously, she's the best one. Why doesn't she have a movie yet?) Officially stoked for the Deadpool sequel this weekend? Brush up on all the gory goodness of the original [Deadpool]( here before you head to the theater. Happy reading and watching, --------------------------------------------------------------- Quote of the Week "Blessed are the peacemakers." ~ [Matthew 5:9]( We're guessing the Bible wasn't talking about Deadpool, though.
