As we spend today with family and friends, I wanted to take some time to share a little bit about my own family values. I grew up in a working-class town in Ohio. My dad was a doctor and my mom was an activist. They taught me what it meant to be a part of a community – to work hard and care for your neighbors as you care for your friends and family. These, friend, are our family values – values that are central to making both Ohio great and our country great. And they’re values that I carry with me every single day. Even when I'm in the office. I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again: When you love this country, you fight for the people who make it work. And that's what I'm doing. Whether you punch a clock or swipe a badge, earn a salary or work for tips, are raising children or caring for an elderly parent: I will always fight for you. That’s why I got involved in public service. And why I'm working every day in the Senate for progress on the issues that matter most to workers and families, from better wages and safer working conditions to protecting affordable health care and the Social Security benefits folks have worked for their whole lives. But this is the toughest reelection of my life, friend: I’m going up against a Trump-endorsed, self-funding opponent; the GOP is pouring record-breaking amounts of money into Ohio to defeat me and flip the Senate red; and since I'm one of the most vulnerable senators up for reelection, Trump has named me a top target for defeat. [Friend, I know we can win, but it’s going to take a historic outpouring of grassroots support. That’s why I’m personally asking: Will you please chip in $5, $25, or more right now to help me defend my must-win seat and keep the Senate blue?]( Please use the links in this email to start a weekly donation through ActBlue. [Sherrod]( ‍ Please read on for a personal message from Sen. Sherrod Brown: Friend – thank you for being a part of our grassroots movement and for sharing our commitment to the Dignity of Work. Fighting for workers means building an economy that prioritizes the needs of workers over tax breaks for billionaires and corporations. No matter who you are or what kind of work you do, I promise to fight for you. But I need your help: Experts say I'm one of the most vulnerable senators up for reelection and Senate control could come down to Ohio. The only way we can defend this critical seat is with grassroots contributions from supporters like you. [If you're with me in this fight, please chip in any amount today to win in Ohio and defend our Democratic Senate majority.]( If you’d like to become one of my TOP supporters and receive exclusive updates from our campaign team, text “OH” to 44105. Thank you! [Our fight for the dignity of work is far from over.]( This email was sent to {EMAIL}. [To unsubscribe from this email list, please click here.]( Friends of Sherrod Brown 605 N.
