"She just veered off the road and she hit a pole, and from there, everything changed," her mother, Peggy Means, shared with Good Morning America. At 35, Jennifer, a devoted wife and mother, found her life and that of her family's forever altered by a sudden car accident. The incessant ringing of Peggy's phone at work [heralded the news]( that plunged their lives into a years-long battle for recovery. Rushed to the hospital, Jennifer was placed in a medically-induced coma, her condition grave. Peggy recalled the doctor's grim prognosis, "They encouraged me, by like day two or three to take her off [life support]." But [Peggy's response was unwavering](, "No, it's in God's hands." This marked the beginning of a relentless fight for her daughter's life. As days turned into years, Peggy began to feel the weight of her daughter's absence in the world. Friends stopped visiting, and Jennifer's husband moved on, creating a life without her. "Your friends quit coming," Peggy lamented, highlighting the painful reality of being slowly forgotten. Yet, Peggy's dedication never wavered, visiting Jennifer nearly every day. She was holding onto the belief that her daughter's presence still lingered, waiting to reawaken. The breakthrough came unexpectedly one sunny day in August 2022. Jennifer laughed. It was in response to a joke that her mother had made, and it scared Peggy to hear it at first. Could a moment of joy shatter five years of silence? Apparently, yes, it can. This laugh reignited Peggy's hope and underscored the [incredible journey of resilience]( and recovery they had embarked on together. Jennifer's story, from the depths of a coma to the glimmers of recovery, is still taking shape but it’s already glorious. From reuniting with her sons and catching their senior games to meeting her first grandchild, it seems like life’s still got plenty of surprises left in store for both Jennifer and her mother, and we can only hope they’re all wonderful from here. This little fighter was handed over to a rescue at just 3 hours old. Fast forward 3 weeks, and Scrunchie began flourishing! He discovered his paws and the thrilling fact that he could now dart around with the kind of zest that could light up a room. [His antics]( are a blend of clumsy puppy moves and sheer, unabashed joy that stirs up smiles and laughter on the regular. Scrunchie is no ordinary pup. His foster mom couldn't help but fall in love with his vibrant personality. Then, Scrunchie met the resident kittens. A furry friendship unfolded that's as adorable as it is amusing. Initially greeted by hisses and confusion, [Scrunchie's unwavering determination]( to befriend these feline creatures had his human wondering- is he more kitten than canine? As Scrunchie navigates his "terrible teens," a [video of his journey]( from a timid pup to a bold, cat-inspired adventurer is capturing hearts with its ridiculous cuteness. “Thank you for saving that sweet little potato. I love when he plays with the kittens too adorable. When people give up animals just for no reason like this little puppy it just shows what kind of humans they are. But fortunately there's good people out there❤❤❤❤,” wrote one viewer, echoing the general consensus within the comments. Scrunchie certainly didn’t have the best start a puppy could have in life, but things are only looking up from here. It was a grand affair- the scene of a bustling room filled with eager bidders, their eyes sparkling with anticipation over the wines they were about to vie for. This auction turned the buying and selling of wine into a party of its own variety. London was already a hub of commerce and culture, but this added a new feather to its cap. When it came to facilitating the flow of booze, they were way ahead of the curve. Wine was the talk of town, setting the stage for the wine industry to evolve into the sophisticated market it is today. And what a stir it caused! Suddenly, “good wine” was accessible to the aristocrats and the burgeoning middle class keen to show off its refined tastes. [The 1673 wine auction]( opened up a whole new world of possibilities. It's a tradition that has aged beautifully, just like a fine wine! Later on… [1792]( - Snail mail became official. The US postal service kicked off, charging 6¢ to12¢ to deliver your letters, depending on how far they had to travel. [1809]( - The US Supreme Court dropped the mic on federal supremacy. In a landmark case, McCulloch v Maryland, it was decided that the federal government's power trumps any state's, kindling the fires of some of the most interesting showdowns in governance. [1937]( - In Santa Monica, California, the first car/plane hybrid took to the skies (then the streets), making everyone rethink their commute, if briefly. [1943]( - Hollywood said "yes" to the Office of War Information's “right” to give movies the thumbs up or down for content, to sway public opinion. 🧩 BONUS FUN!!! Can You Spot The Hair Pin?
