He was rescued from abuse and neglect, so malnourished that his future looked grim. It was reported that “when Kerry Kinder (Doberinling Boarding Kennels owner) rescued him, he was starving, had broken ribs, and had been beaten – he was an abused dog. It was borderline on whether or not he should be put down because he was in such a bad way." Despite his background of abuse, Khan was born to be a loyal and brave protector. Thankfully, he found an understanding family willing to give him a chance at the life he deserved. Not long after joining their home, they experienced first-hand just how fearless and alert Khan was. With Dobermans being known for their potential aggression, Catherine was extra vigilant when Charlotte and Khan were playing. But nothing could prepare her for the shock of seeing Khan grab 17-month-old Charlotte by her diaper and toss her nearly a meter! We can only imagine how horrified Catherine must have felt...until she realized why. Catherine finally saw the king brown snake, one of the most venomous creatures in the world. When Khan spotted it, he immediately sprung into action to save young Charlotte. Using his teeth as a tool, he threw her out of harm’s way and used his body as a shield! When faced with a dangerous situation, Khan fearlessly stepped in to save the day. After taking a bite from a snake that could have been fatal, he was rushed off for anti-venom treatment and thankfully survived the injury! When Khan could finally return home, he was rewarded with a huuuuge breakfast following his recovery. Sounds like our hero deserves extra treats for a while! James Chris John lived next door, heard Brutus' constant barking, and discovered that Brutus had been left alone with dog food scattered around an empty house. He immediately reached out to Unchain Oklahoma animal shelter who sent over Melanie Parkins to assist. Melanie and her husband saw that Brutus wasn't trained and had difficulty socializing, making it difficult for him to be adopted. Melanie and Ken loved Brutus and wanted to give him the forever home he deserved. With lots of hard work and 1.5 years of training, the couple developed gentle and obedient Brutus into an amazing pup that, unfortunately, still couldn't seem to find his perfect family. Little did they know that destiny was waiting around the corner as this extraordinary pooch soon found himself right where he belonged! When Amber and her family welcomed Brutus, they had no idea what a blessing this abandoned pup would be. During his first week with them, he knew instinctively something was wrong with Jason, Amber's son, and moved quickly to get attention. Amber was asleep when she woke up to Brutus bumping her face. As soon as he got her attention, he dashed off to Jason's room, prompting her to follow. As soon as Brutus got into Jason's room, he grabbed him by the shirt collar and lifted him until Amber arrived. Turns out, Jason has a seizure disorder which Brutus noticed and moved to assist. “Brutus went into the bedroom, grabbed him (Jason) by his shirt collar, pulled him up, and started barking until we got there to him,” Amber said. Surprisingly, Brutus never had any therapy dog training but because of his heroic deed, the family decided to get him formally trained and certified as a therapy dog. Later on, this opened doors for Brutus to work in nursing homes in Southeastern Oklahoma with those who needed his help! The horse seemed excited to join in the festivities, showing off some impressive moves of its own. Whether it was strutting alongside other dancers or getting closer for interactions, this equine certainly brought something new to liven up the night. One lucky passerby managed to capture footage of this heartwarming scene so that everyone could share in these funny (and totally cute) vibes with them! When you first see the police officer and his horse, it almost looks like they're about to put a damper on the party. But then something unexpected happens. As soon as he hears those drums playing in sync with each other, all of a sudden this duo starts feeling the rhythm! Forget 'breaking up' – these two are boogying down with everyone else instead! Everyone was delighted by the amazing show put on by this talented police horse! Everywhere from far and wide, people gathered to witness its impressive hoofwork. The crowd couldn't help but dance along while the officer led his four-legged partner around in a twirl. To top off their performance perfectly, the brave steed bowed out with some extra-special flair that sent everyone into an uproar of cheers!
