This week: K9 dogs, bull terrier stigmas, and $15k tiny home [View this email in your browser]( Hey everyone, Sending you all amazing vibes! Hope you've been enjoying these cute story tidbits and are able to share them with your loved ones! This Week's Top Stories [:newspaper:] ANIMALS [Tough police dog changes before handlers eyes when baby girl approaches]( K9 dogs can be terrifying, especially when you see them in action. They’re powerful, well taught, and incredibly efficient at their jobs. Sonny is one of those K9 dogs who knows exactly what his duty is. His owner, Corporal Jason Frey of the Clinton Police Department in Connecticut, says that Sonny always flips into “cop mode” as soon as he sees Jason in his police uniform. However, Sonny also has an adorable, caring side to him. When he gets off his shift, Sonny turns off his “cop” switch and becomes a doting big brother to his baby sister Reagan. Sonny was Jason and his wife’s whole world until they gave birth to their baby girl. Initially, they were concerned about how Sonny might react to there being a new baby in the house. Sonny’s easy adjustment was a surprise to both of them. Not only was Sonny patient and sweet to his little sister, he instinctively understood the need to be gentle and soft. He wouldn’t even react when she crawled all over him! Jason and his wife can rest assured that their babies would be in good hands with Sonny watching over them. [(Full video)]( ANIMALS [Adorable terrier just wants to be pet so owner puts up a sign and films the response]( Dogs love making new friends, but some struggle more than others due to stigmas and stereotypes. Staffies are one breed that suffer from these preconceived notions, so one owner in Queensland took matters into her own hands. Tubs, a blue Staffordshire bull terrier, loves to stand up next to the property fence and greet people passing by. You can see Tubs’ innocent excitement in the way her tail wags and swipes faster than a windshield wiper during a thunderstorm. Understanding that appearances can be deceiving, Tubs’ owner put up a colorful sign saying “Tubs is friendly. She would love a gentle pat” to let people know not to be afraid! Tubs’ hangouts with different people are documented on TikTok for your viewing pleasure. She’s become a sort of ambassador for the breed, pushing back against the misunderstanding that these breeds are naturally violent and aggressive. Bulldog’s can be particularly family-oriented and are actually considered good “doggie nannies!” [(Full video)]( TALENT [College student tired of paying rent builds a cozy tiny home for $15K to live debt-free]( Heading off to college is always an arduous task with the sudden influx of expenses and the need to be self-sufficient. A student in Jacksonville, Florida came up with the brilliant idea of building his own tiny home on wheels in order to save costs! Bradley’s home is 27 x 8.5 feet (8.3 x 2.5m) in size and in designed in the image of a beach bungalow. His porch is a throwback to southern-style homes and has a spacious design with few obstructions from start to end, making it feel bigger than it sounds. His tiny home is named Rolling Quarters and contains an 8ft counter for food prep. His setup is quite comprehensive! He’s got a large kitchen sink, a lounge with storage space built into the sofa, a small dining table, a bathroom with a full sized shower, a Natures Head composting toilet, and even a sleeping loft. There’s plenty of storage space thanks to Bradley’s minimalist mentality and resourcefulness in utilizing every nook and cranny. There’s even a small office space to separate work from play. His parents thought he was joking when he announced he’d be building one, but he did it with only a budget of $15,000. After paying a year’s worth of rent out of high school, Bradley decided that paying rent just wasn’t for him, leading him to his brilliant tiny home idea. Talk about thinking ahead!
