Mama gorilla shows off her baby and gives forehead kisses
Recently in the Calgary Zoo, visitors were surprised by a scene that depicted the innocent beauty of mother nature. A Western Lowland Gorilla was newly born and the proud mother gorilla [caressed the baby in her arms, kissed the babyâs forehead, then held it up in the air for the crowd to admire](. It was like a scene out of The Lion King! The Western Lowland Gorillas are a severely endangered species (population fell by 80% over the last 30 years) and miracles like this play a critical role in restoring the livelihood of their kind. While weâre not informed enough to debate the ethics of zoos, the successful birth of this baby gorilla shows progress in saving them and suggests that zoos may function well as temporary protection for animals while their species are in recovery. Veteran and wife are freezing at night until kids help build them a new tiny home
Navy veteran Eddie Browning and his wife Cindy were in a grim situation, living out of a poorly insulated fire-damaged camper and unable to keep warm during the nights. In this desperate time of need, their assistance came in a surprising form - Georgia elementary school students! [These children combined their efforts and started building a tiny home for the Brownings](. Their dedication and commitment also helped spur adults into action. Donors, volunteers, and corporate sponsors pitched in to the childrensâ efforts by making the residence legally habitable with amenities and expanding it in size. At the Georgia Tiny House Festival in Eatonton, the children were beyond excited to give the Brownings a tour of their 248 sq. ft. home which contained a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and appliances such as a washer/dryer and a fridge. The project was a resounding success and inspired the Elementary school to build a house each year for a family in need. [(Full video)](

Shetland ponies enjoy a spa day at home
Shetland ponies are a unique, hardy breed that have been native to hills of Shetland for thousands of years. Historically, the Britains used them to haul coal in low, underground coal mine tunnels during the 19th century. Today, they live much simpler lives! Horse trainer Emma Massingale loves to pamper her ponies, giving them regular spa days and allowing them to relax in comfort and bliss. Her two ponies, Albert and Ernie, regularly get the full package: [hot stone treatment, hoof polish, face masks, and even a hot tub?!]( Picture this: a pony with glistening blow-dried golden hair, head on top of a towel, and cucumber covering the eyes while napping under the sun. Given all the hard work these ponies were put through, weâd say this pampering is well deserved! [(Full video)]( Best Posts on Instagram [:camera_with_flash:]
