Try this instead Have you ever wondered why you business can sometimes feel bogged down or maybe a bit…stuck? It’s almost certainly happened to you. And when I interviewed a ton of businesses I couldn’t believe what I came across. The ones that finally felt mobile and excited again, weren’t doing something special. In fact, what they did was the exact opposite. Imagine a garden overgrowing with brambles, vines, thick weeds and grass. Now personally I love a wild meadow garden, I’m not much of a “lawn care” guy. But even rewilding a garden requires careful actions. You wouldn’t look at an unusable and overgrown garden and think “I need to add more plants to this” would you? Instead, we start to trim back the weeds and open up the space. Cut back what’s overgrown and kill off what isn’t working. I remember in our small garden my wife desperately wanting to keep an acer tree. They’re pretty expensive if I recall. And the previous owners had neglected the whole garden. So while the acer tree had grown in size and volume. It needed cutting back. And sure enough, the first year, it looked a little ropey. But now, after a year of pruning, it’s flourishing in the corner. As I write this we’re in the middle of September and the leaves are turning a glorious deep crimson.
