[Image] Weekly Market Update Today is April 14, 2023 Dear Reader, Hello again and Happy Friday! Have you been following the leaked Pentagon documents story? Apparently a 21-year-old National Guardsman shared highly classified materials with⦠gamers. Hereâs the New York Times. Bill Spencer Editor-In-Chief
True Market Insiders According to authorities, the leaker posted purloined docs to a chat group called âThug Shaker Central.â And according to Bloomberg⦠âThe Biden administration is going to have a hard time explaining how the biggest US intelligence leak in a decade may have been committed by a 21-year-old airman whose role â âcyber transport systems journeymanâ â required a high-school degree, a driverâs license and up to 18 months of on-the-job-training.â (You canât make this stuff up. Kim Philby and Ian Flemming must be rolling in their graves.) Naturally the leaker has been arrested and now awaits his fate in custody. What struck me about this episode is that some of the documents supposedly contain incorrect or altered information. If you canât trust the intel in stolen, super-secret documents⦠What can you trust? Also, some of the leaked ârevelationsâ appear to be anything but. America spies on its allies as well as on its adversaries? Well damn, I would hope so. And I would expect that our allies are âspyingâ on us as well. Iâd hardly respect them if they werenât. Ukraineâs forces are spread thin? How could they not be, after nearly 14 months of attrition warfare? Any gamer could tell you that. Even when you think the raw information youâre seeing is probably accurate, you canât always know what to do with it. Inflation is lessening (good)... But a recession looms (bad). Stocks are rising (good)⦠But earnings are falling (bad). Employment is strong (hooray!)⦠But the dollar is weak (boo!). So, who or what can we trust? Well, thereâs G*d. But G*d appears to have stopped offering market insights, at least for the time being. What else is there? I believe we can trust where people put their money. At least when it comes to the stock market. âMoney talksâ really means, âMoney speaks the truth.â When big investors sink billions, even tens of billions, into a particular stock or sector, you can trust theyâre expressing how they truly feel about that investment. The buying and the selling by giant, deep-pocket hedge funds is what moves stock prices up or down. So being able to determine what a big fund feels is thinking is intel thatâs worth its weight in platinum. Remember that TV commercial from the 1970s â âWhen E.F. Hutton talks, people listen.â That might be one of the few true statements ever uttered on a TV ad. I would hope people listen when a giant institution tells us, by what itâs loading up on, âHereâs where our nine-figure research department says we should put our gigantic pile of cash.â Or when it declares, through its stock accumulations, âThe Speaker of the House and the Chairman of the Fed return our calls. Our conversations with those folks lead us to âbelieveâ that this or that stock or sector is will shoot higher in 3⦠2⦠1â¦â ZERO TO OVER $200 MILLION This [elite investing technique]( remains completely hidden from regular investors. Despite you not needing any special brokerage requirements of licenses⦠And Chris is revealing all of the details right now. [This is a story you DO NOT want to miss.]( So where are the big players putting their money right now? The following screenshot is our Sector Relative Strength Matrix, which compares the relative performance of 45 groups, each to each. Right now investors are putting their capital to work in the Precious Metals sector. We can tell thatâs happening because Precious Metals is ranked at the very top of the sector rankings. Whatâs more, the giant funds have been putting their money into that group for a while now. You can see that in this view of the Precious Metals (PREC) sectorâs Relative Strength Ranking History. The yellow highlighted region shows how much time, since October, that Precious Metals has been one of the top 10 sectors. In fact, the sector has most recently been in the top ten since March 13 â an entire month. Contrast that with the red highlighted areas, which show how little time (again, since October)the sector has spent mired among the bottom 10 sectors. In other words, this sector is under âaccumulationâ by the big institutions. And THAT is a piece of information you wonât find in any top secret Pentagon papers. But you will find it at True Market Insiders. In fact, we focus on sectors because buying sectors is the easiest and safest way to ride the coattails of the investors who really move the markets. Chris Rowe says that [our method is like having a âskeleton keyâ that unlocks any door/sector of the market]( Thatâs a great figure of speech and I wish Iâd thought of it. Hereâs more about this [potent way of approaching the stock market and managing your investing portfolio](. Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend. Bill Spencer
