This is when a site was hit by an algorithm update and then that algorithm update has not run again, so it is stuck in a lower ranking position because Google has not refreshed the algorithm to release the site. We suspected this [several years ago]() but now it is confirmed. - Links from new sites. Some folks are worried about getting links from or linking out towards new sites. Google’s John Mueller said [new site links are fine and natural]() — not all sites on the web are 15+ years old. - Indexing whole pages. Just a reminder, that Google indexes your whole web page, not individual parts of your web page. So, if someone tells you that Google will index the header and the footer separately from the rest of the page, you can [point them to this tweet from John Mueller of Google who says otherwise](). - Happy Hanukkah. Google has some easter eggs, or should I say, donuts, dreidels and menorahs for Hanukkah this week.
